I like the move. If appears the coaching staff is going to promote from within even if the skins draft a WLB. I think the opening day starter will be taken from the current roster. Let the offseason and training camp decide who will start. Williams may even rotate players like he did last year using Clemons on mostly passing situations.

Evans and Clemons are 110% effort guys who have made a difference in limited time on the field for the team. Williams, like his predecessor Richie Petitbon, is a master of taking guys with a certain skill and working them into the defensive alignments where that skill can shine through.

His schemes have already landed large contracts for guys like Fred Smoot and Ryan Clark as well as Antonio Pierce.

Who were most of these players before they played for Williams?

Most except Smoot were street free agents :)

he did for a guy that at 5'10 and 170 pounds was told by the New York Giants that he wasn't even good enough for them to bring back to training camp in 2004

he goes from that to starting 15 games for us in 2005.............and then getting a starting contract in Pittsburgh? That's a pretty tall climb for a guy that was probably looking at delivering pizzas in the early spring of 2004 :D

I cant wait to sign a starting LB now that our backups are solid.

There is no way that after losing Pierce and LA is consecutive years that we can just stay put at LB.

this signing is great for two reasons. Clemons is a solid player and he already knows the Williams system which means all he has to do is get better and not having to worry about learning anything new. We just might be a great pass rushing team next year guys and that is a scary thought if you are not a Redskins fan. :D
