Before he died, Jack Kent Cooke had spoken with several corporations, including Pepsi and Marriott, about the naming rights. The San Diego City Council recently sold the naming rights to Jack Murphy Stadium to Qualcomm for $18 million over 20 years; Ford will pay $40 million

i knew that i had read the JKC planned to rent out the name before. my original comment was aimed at someone who, i beleive, said that the stadium was originally to be named RalJon. which obviously was not the case.

In response to your sig - JKC didn't want his name on the stadium and it was originally named RalJon Stadium- after his 2 sons, but after he passed John Cooke named it JKC Stadium.

Snyder sold the naming rights because the team cost him $800 mil.

Are you sure -- RalJon was the name of the "city" JKC built for the stadium to be in.
