SouthernSkinsFan
Would you trade Jason Campbell with one year of watching/learning under his belt for LenDale White, Karl Paymah, and a fourth round pick? Mel Kiper, Chris Mortensen, and Tom Jackson are saying on ESPN.com that, with the 22nd pick this year, the Broncos could take White or DeAngelo Williams. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/motion/echo/index?id=2395525&category=Top%20Videos FoxSports also has Denver taking White with #22 in their most recent mock. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5469406 So if that were to happen, we would have given up IN THEORY: one of those running backs or someone rated lower than them; Paymah, a DB that Denver picked in the 3rd round last year; and this year's fourth round selection. In your opinion, was it worth it? Personally, I say yes, it was worth it, even though we still don't know how JC will perform. Man, I hate waiting for the season to begin. terpfan
Uhhh, why the hell would we do that? 1. The only other QBs on our roster are both 35 or older. 2. White is fat and out of shape, he probably wont go higher than Campbell did anyway. 3. Campbell has a year of experience. 4. We don't need a RB... at all. In fact its easily our strongest position. I seriously have no clue why we would even consider this....

SkinsHokieFan
It took me a second to decipher what you said I would trade LenDale White for Jason Campbell But I would not trade JC for White As we have seen, RB's can come out of nowhere to be stars. But finding a QB that has all the physical tools, and character tools JC has is very tough. The only question we have is does he have the mind to read defenses and known an offense inside and out to take advantage of his tremondous physical and character skils

SouthernSkinsFan
Uhhh, why the hell would we do that?I seriously have no clue why we would even consider this.... Exactly my point, terpfan! What I am saying is that WE WON THAT TRADE. There's no way a team doesn't make that trade if they had somehow known what they would be getting. Unfortunately, I believe my fellow fan "fight_on" (no offense ) totally missed the point altogether.
The Sisko
I think you missed the point Terpfan. SSF was trying to show that we got the better end of the deal. I don't know that I agree with his premise though. Sure, it looks that way if you compare the players but you can't do that. For one thing we don't know that they'll take White with our pick. More importantly the quality of the player they take with the pick is irrelevant. All that really matters is that the compensation is relatively equal at the time the deal is made. If a player drafted with the pick becomes a stud, that's nice but it's never guarranteed. This is especially true when looking at things a year in the future when you don't really know who's going to be available in the following year's draft. SouthernSkinsFan
Okay, Yusuf, you make an excellent point and I understand it fully. I just thought it would be fun to lay this alll out with what information we have so far. Apparently, it's not that fun for some of our brethren. By the way, in what part of Atlanta are you? rebornempowered
Good thread. It will be more interesting to see what Denver really takes with that pick though. To answer the question though. JC definetly a better deal especially with him having one year watching behind the scenes.

terpfan
Oh, OK, I think I get it. I read the part where you say "yes" and I assume you meant the original question. Its a little confusing. In that case, yes, I agree. (obviously)
SouthernSkinsFan
Guys, once and for all, may I clear this up???? I am not advocating a trade for LenDale White! I was trying to find a creative way to say we WON THE TRADE that netted us Jason Campbell. Of course we would give up White or Williams or whoever the Broncos pick at 22, plus Paymah and a 4th! I didn't think it was that hard to get. Maybe it's because it's late here on the East Coast, huh?

Sean Taylor's Legal Team
The responses to this thread were hysterical... One look at the topic title and poof insert instant "NO!" response. Upon further inspection i think everyone, myself included, that has posted here would agree with SSF's opinion that the trade was very beneficial for the redskins. JC > LW. And I think that the premise behind the original post brought an interesting light to the trade we made last year. so IMO good post SSF Now to me the question is, who is at fault the "readers/repliers" of the thread, or the misleading thread title... Big Weirdo
How would you know whether you won this trade or not? Neither player has played a single snap in the NFL...
NEMO
The trade is worth it because we needed a QB. If for some reason Jay Cutler is still around with the 22nd pick then we got screwed. I was listening to something (Redskins.com radio) that said Joe Gibbs had Ben R. the highest rated QB over Phillip Rivers and Eli Manning. They also said that Gibbs had JC rated higher than Alex Smith and Aaron Rogers. In Joe Gibbs I trust so we got a great deal because we played well and had a bottom half of a pick. indaslums
No jason campbell is going to be the man. We have one of the Top 4 or 5 backs in the NFL. And, if you saw my post earlier Lendale has gained more weight in the last few months then Kristie Alley.
chiplohmillers#1
Did you take a look at what shape lendale White was in at USC's Pro day. not only would runningback be the last area we would address in the draft (wideout is probibly the last place now). White tipped the scales at 245 up 9 lbs from the combine, and he was soo soft he could only rep 225 15 times. You could go to any YMCA in the world and find a dozen or so guys that could do that. I hope the Eagles decide to draft this guy because he is the second coming of Ron Dayne. Superstar in college and a step too slow for the pros. This guy obviously has a conditioning problem and could wind up like Curtis All Pro Ennis who ate his way out of the running back position in College.
