Fifty Gut
John Clayton just said on Sportscenter that the Jets are only offering a 7th round draft pick for Ramsey, and we are still demanding a 4th that's the hold up
truskinsfan18
screw a 7th...thats horrible for a former 1st round pick we might as well keep him
CPstretch
we won't have 4 QBs...we would just cut him
jimster
tell them make it a 4th and we'll throw in next years 8th round pick.
inevitable
Probably becuase the Dolphins and the Saints picked up QB's, they're basically assured to get one of the top QB's in the draft. That, imo, pushes Ramsey's value down because he becomes merely a saftey valve if Pennington gets hurt again.
skinfan2k
we got to get this down, someway somehow. i mean we got to get rid of his salary off the books. they know they are the only team with an issue at qb that wants ramsey. .i can only think of oakland and minny who might want him but they show no interest. Oldskool
LOL if thats what it is. Jets give us a 7th this year and a 3rd next year and the rights to Abraham We give them Ramsey and a 2nd this year and maybe swap 3rds with them next year. DieselPwr44
That's just the Jets' way of saying: We're afraid to deal with you because you may burn us...again.
smitty71
IMO this deal won't happen. We might just cut our ties to PR. A seventh is insane! He is a good QB for cryin' out loud - at least a fourth would be fair.
redman
The problem is that by signing Collins, we've lost all of our leverage. The market for QB's is saturated, with Brooks, K. Collins, Griese, and McCown out there as FA's, and even guys like Shaub as potential trade bait, not to mention a draft that's got some blue chip prospects at the position. In addiiton, given the signings/trades in the past week, some of the teams that would likely have drafted QB's (e.g. Miami; New Orleans) now seem far less likely to do so. The Jets don't expect to seriously contend for a championship next year, so I doubt they feel much pressure to acquire Patrick Ramsey.
Gigantor
Trade him NOW! let him go before he's worth nothing.
HokieSkinsFan
Don't do it, Skins. I'm sure a better deal can be reached with another team. A 7th is an insulting offer.

Ramsey is in the same league as those QB's and they don't require any draft picks. Something tells me Oakland will draft Vince Young so will only be looking for a stop gap. KC, San Diego and St Louis need back-ups and they still have Kerry Collins, Greise, Brooks and Tony Banks to choose from.

E-Dog Night
What's the difference between a 7th rounder and an undrafted FA? Essentially nothing. It's a total throw away.
MCnDaHouse
I'd take a 7th for him before I'd release him. MC

JazzConcert
RAmsey wont even start in NY. They are going to draft a QB. They dont need him up there, nor do we. If hes complaining about not starting here, hell have the same problem in NY. I think Ramsey is Done........ cut into FA for the year untill someone gets hurt.
