kingfish50
Good job Dana87. Another point is that we are signing these players to 4-6 year contracts. That's longevity. That's building for the long haul.

mbraun2
Thats a hell of a research job, nice! Is McCune still with the team? i coulda sworn he got released last August.
mbraun2
The only fallacy I see here is that this approach is expensive as all get out, we are paying other teams draft picks their 'breakout' money. But as long as the cap keeps goin up and Danny keeps working his numbers magic its gonna work!
topdogbran
I reminded myself earlier today that we only had 3 first round picks during Gibbs I. I'm feeling fine about building this team this way. As long as they aren't in their mid-30s and chasing personal records, we'll be fine.

Dana87
The only fallacy I see here is that this approach is expensive as all get out, we are paying other teams draft picks their 'breakout' money. But as long as the cap keeps goin up and Danny keeps working his numbers magic its gonna work! The question you have to ask yourself is... Would you rather give other teams top draft picks their big contact after they have gotten expirience in the league? Or would you rather other teams pay our draft choices big contracts once we've waited for them to develope? Case in point... Marcus Washington Cornelius Griffin Santana Moss Randy Thomas And the next crop... Antwaan Randle El Brandon Lloyd Adam Archuletta Andre Carter We are essentially trading, in some cases, our un immature draft picks for young players ready to turn the corner. And this year we have a roster full of them.
