hands11
I was just watching the video of his announcement and got to thinking. He can pass He returns punts/kickoffs He can run out of the backfield He is a WR, BMitch was RB This could end up being a huge piece for many years Interesting is that he isnt as excited about being a KR guy as a PR guy. They may need to work on him some. Remember how B Mitch was always frustrated he didnt get more touches at RB. We have a ton of WR now. Not sure how they work this out. Patton isnt giving up as a WR. I saw him interviewed and he is focused. Moss will be the #1 and Lloyd will need his touches. So we have 3 players shooting for the 2, 3 spots. Something is going to have to give and it is going to be a challange to make this transition. It would actually be best if we used him as a hybrid and let other guys be the pure WRs. Im hope he is happy with this. Getting touches as PR, KR, WR, and 3rd down RB who can run, recieve or pass. This really helps a ton is any one of them gets hurt. Thrash is insurance as a WR and return man but will mostly play special team. Jacobs lost his opprotunity and is off the charts for now. He might not even make the team. How would he crack this line up? We have to many young talented player ahead of him.
Bonef1de
His versatility was why the FO went after him so aggressively.

They both definitely share a lot of similiar abilites as you point out. Hopefully though Randle El can give us more in the offensive game then B-Mitch did for most of his career. (Note, not a knock on Mitchell, just pointing out that for the money I hope Randle El is more than just a good kick returner).

Well, one of the points I was making, as someone who watched B Mitch with the Skins from day one, is that B Mitch could have done a lot more in the regular offensive set and some years should have been our starting RB. He actually was the 3rd down back often and throughout his career and averaged 5.1 from the LOS on runs. he was used more or less depending on the year. But is was completely capable of doing a lot more then we had him do and that frustrated him. Its just like Green returning punts or being a WR. He was to valuable as a CB. B Mitch ended his career with" I believe" most total yards http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1180 http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302217 They are different in size but the same kind of multi talented player that is challenging to use properly and keep happy. Newera
With defenses being so fast and often over pursuing, a guy like Randle El is the ultimate "Keep you honest type of player."

You like the Joe Washington comparison more the B Mitch ? I don't. As for Megget, I was using other Washington players as a comparison.

hands11
http://www.profootballhof.com/history/story.jsp?story_id=1988 Gibbs and the staff will need to figure out how best to use him. Hey, B Mitch didn't even want to play the game that was dealt to him but in the end, the Hall of Fame is a nice place to end your career. I wouldn't doubt Gibbs and the gang are talking this kind of language to El. I honestly don't see us using him a whole lot different then he was used in Pittsburgh unless there is an injury to Moss, Patton or Lloyd. At least not this year. Who knows. I'm only guessing giving what I know right now. Well see what happens.
