Slow Week for Potsons Clients

Anyone notice that while all the big FA signings are going on at the beginning of the season, there is not one peep about postons clients? Peterson, Arrington, Woodson...big names..no offers. I think they're posturing and the market will dry up. A lot of one year contracts on the way for them...

Lavar Arrington finished his visit with the Giants yesterday and left without a contract. But several league sources believe the Giants are well positioned for what could be a two-team race.

Though he has drawn interest from 14 teams, according to agent Carl Poston, the ex-Redskins linebacker has only visited with the Giants and the Dolphins in the opening days of the NFL's free-agent frenzy. Poston said yesterday that the linebacker has returned to his home in Washington and the two were expecting to speak last night to plot their next move.

Geez, just a few days ago Poston said it was 8 teams. What kind of strategy do you need when you got 14 teams interested?

I think most GM in the NFL are smart enough to go after the middle tier of free agents on the first two days of the free agency to fill holes in their roster before other teams can outbid them. Waiting for these "elite" free agents to figure out where they want to go hangs out too many GMs to dry.
