Mania
GMU is in the tourny, they are in the Washington DC bracket go Patriots GW was dropped to an 8th seed with only 2 L's, wow. Yes, but Hofstra should've gone in before George Mason, considering they beat them 2 times in 10 days.
RedskinPride27
Another Mason fan signing in. Really glad we're in and really relieved as well. It was a long week wondering if we were gonna get in. I like our matchup with Michigan State, we played them last year at MCI (now Verizon) Center, and lost by 6. The bench will have to step up with Skinn not playing in the first game. But they can do it!! Go Mason!!
a_good_brotha
A bit off-topic, but has a team ever had a lower seed number than their national ranking? That's unbelievable what happened with GW (No. 6 ranked an 8). Not that I disagree, though. It happened in 2001. Georgetown was ranked 23rd in the nation and entered the NCAA tourney as a 10 seed. TODD
It happened in 2001. Georgetown was ranked 23rd in the nation and entered the NCAA tourney as a 10 seed. I meant that GW's seed (#8) is lower than it's actual national ranking (#6 before the tourney)
Larry Brown #43
Tough or a lot of parity?I love the homer spirit but I'm inclined to believe MD, VA, GW, and Georgetown could all win the CAA outright. You can't tell me you honestly believe GMU is a better all around team than any of the squads above. As I said would be the case, the GW/UNCW game was extremely close. Could have gone either way. GW had the longest winning streak in the country this year, but a CAA squad took 'em to OT. The thing about the CAA is UNCW, Mason, Hofstra and possibly even Old Dominion are all very evenly matched. Any one of the four could have taken GW to OT or even beaten them. Had UNCW been playing VA or MD, UNCW would have won. Once you put your "power conference" superiority complexes aside, you realize you gotta give the CAA some respect.

RedskinPride27
Can't believe we pulled it off without Skinn. Everyone stepped up and played so well. So now we get UNC with Skinn on Sunday and we can pull this one off also!
