Bhutanibeast
dont you guys think that the way the Redskins throw around draft picks is taking all the fun out of the draft. In no way am i disagreeing with the trade for Lloyd, but it seems like every year, we never had all seven picks. In fact, i cant remember the last time we had seven picks. Hopefully, the redskins make some deals to acquire some picks this year, so the draft day party can even be worth going to.
fdarugar
Jason Campbell is our 1st rounder, Brandon Lloyd is our 3rd rounder...
JimmiJo
No I do not. Draft picks are a greater gamble than FA acquisitions, where the player has already proved themselves in the league.
Dead Money
wah wah... Shouldn't be getting your colostomy bag changed or something? :jk: Seems our staff sucks with draft picks 2-7 anyway with the exception of Cooley so why not trade them for proven talent. Destino
No I do not. Draft picks are a greater gamble than FA acquisitions, where the player has already proved themselves in the league. The problem is you build depth through the draft where you can get potential for cheap. The skins right now have depth problems in several key spots - The OL, DT, and CB. We don't have those young guys waiting for a chance - we've got holes. FA is much more expensive then draft picks and the guys you get are older.
IM A REDSKIN FAN
I think its funner to have fun in Free Agency.... but I agree with ^ post above me....

TaylorPickSix
If we get most of our holes filled in free agency, then no. It's not necessarily taking out the fun of the draft. To a certain extent, yeah it kinda is because we have to wait around longer to see who our team picks and then have the analysts say like two words. Thirtyfive2seven
All I know is that this is the most exciting time to be a Redskins fan. We are SO back. I love it!!!!! Thank God for Joe Gibbs! Hail to my skins baby!
CapitalDefense
Look at it this way, it saves you alot time. You will not have to wait 6+ hours for the first round to end. Turn it on somewhere around 7 pm on Saturday and see who the Redskins pick in the 2nd round. You can do some needed yard work, wash the cars etc. No need to even turn in on Sunday, mostly camp fodders. Your weekend is free.....
sknsrbck26
I hate the draft. There really is no fun in the draft unless we might get a super athlete ex. Reggie Bush .

We still have pics, will get another one for Ramsey most likely, and will probably target O and D line with those.
skins84
I get what this guy's saying... For alot of people who love watchin the draft it does get boring sometimes bein a skins fan when we don't have alot of picks but it goes both ways All the other teams are bored right now during free agency but we are making moves... Mr. S
I don't know about you, but to me a Superbowl is just so gosh darn fun. Yeh, Im sure all of the Patriots big free agents have enjoyed the Super Bowls too...... Or the Steelers for that matter Teams do overall get built through the draft, and if anyone does need an example, well then look at what I just wrote. Other than Corey Dillon, what names really standout on the Patriots as big free agents? What about the Steelers? I do not mind giving up mid to later round picks for guys like Lloyd, proven talent, and gave up little for him. However, we did have holes still, and hopefully Lloyd comes cheap cause otherwise it would suck to have to give up draft picks and a big contract for his services. I hope we do find the young talent we need as reserves, cause right now I see holes in: DLine as usual, especially with Demetric Evans not re-signed. Secondary, it was battered last year Linebackers, now that Lavar is gone, and hopefully Holdman wont be re-signed O-line, Brown and Raymer gone, who is there now other than the starters and Molinaro? We need to find depth, and the draft is usually the better way to find that depth, but in our case we always resort to free agency. On a side note, I do have faith in the Lloyd pickup, and if we do get Archuleta and Andre Carter. They will help us out.

dfbovey
Taking the fun out of the draft, putting the fun back into the regular season where it belongs. I can live with that. It's sad that as Redskin fans the best part of the year has been out offseason. I'm ready to put that era behind us.

Or both their MLB's Chad Brown and Monty Beisil? Everyone gets free agents. Building through free agency or the draft are right or wrong ways, just different approaches. As long as we can find a medium to get talent now, and potential later I'm happy.
wysknz1
I think there are pro's and con's to both. The problem I see with draft picks any more is the Media seems to pick for the teams with the higher picks. Then if it doesn't pan out they all say "I told you so". How many times has a 1st rounder been a bust? Lots. Then the other problem is 1st rounders don't seem to come cheaply any more. It seems to me to be a bigger gamble to have a first then to build with lower picks for line and spec teams and to build the majority of the "skill" positions through FA. Then again, that's expensive too, but you usually know by then what you're paying for. IMO

FootballGuy2677
I think you should always build in the Draft no matter what but if you can trade a couple draft picks for a Young and Very Talented Reciever or whatever position you need, you should do it. RabidFan
I like watching the draft as its a big day that is all NFL and gets me pumped for the season. The only thing that sucks is after every pick of ours they cut to commercial with no analysis....that pisses me off more than not having picks.
