Major Harris
i was a hip hop junkie from the mid 90's 'til recently. i'm not really down w/ the stuff that's out now. i'm sure there's some underground stuff, but it's work nowadays to find good hip hop, imo. i've been listening to a lot of classic rock lately. In Flames
death, speed, thrash, power...any metal really, but prefer death. I know, In Flames isn't death metal (at least not by my standards), but they are my favorite band, with Iced Earth a close 2nd!!

hu-bison-skinsfan
No genre has nothing worthwhile and no genre is populated entirely by good stuff. Every genre has good, meicore, and bad. I like the good stuff from all genres. This is probably true. My favorite is (as Thanos puts it) "real" jazz. Listening to Coltrane's "Giant Steps" is like having an out-of-body experience. Adult Contemporary R&B is a close second (you know, like Anita Baker...for the grown folks) As an aside, jazz used to sound like a bunch of noise before I saw all of Spike Lee's movies, especially when his dad, Bill Lee, was doing the music. It was so beautiful that I opened my ears to it and just like that I wanted to dig up every piece of jazz that I could.
