I guess I'm an idiot.... how can they sign him before 12:01 tonight?

I guess it's a good signing by the G-Men...

He was cut by the team so his contract was null and void. He never was a free agent.

Just the same way that Isaac Bruce could have signed with any team.

thats exactly what i was thinking. how did they get him for some cheap?

god i hate the giants.

:gaintsuck

Maybe they borrowed some of Ricky Williams stash... ;)

"Huh, how much you want me to sign for?

Hell no!

Ohh, this is gooood.

What were the contract numbers again?

Coooool! I can't wait to play for the New England Giants!"

they will probably draft a CB too because they still are thin at that position. they will start madison and peterson but their nickel will be curtis deloach or corey webster which is pretty gross. peterson is getting up there in age too so they might look to groom his replacement.

Actually CP,

Corey Webster will probably be the other starting CB. Petersen may never play football again. Webster showed signs this past season that he is going to be a very good CB. And now he will have Madison to learn from. The Giants may even look to sign another free agent CB. But I think LB is their top priority now.

Decent pick-up at best, he is getting up there. I think the offense is more questionable and in need of a revamp at this point, as Tiki is getting up there, and Eli is 50/50 on the field.[/Quote]

Ummmm, what?

All 11 starters on offense are signed for the upcoming season. Eli was in his first year as a starter and will only get better. Tiki hasn't shown any sides of declining. The Giants staff has said they have identified Eli's problem and will be working on it during the offseason with him. The Giants' offense is just fine. The defense has several holes to fill. CB was addressed and they are working on the LB problem.

I'm not sure if you have noticed but 30 year old RBs don't show signs of declining, they just do very rapidly. But I always liked Tiki.

Has anybody else thought that the Sam Madison deal was awfully cheap. Maybe I'm just used to the basketball and baseball contracts but 4 years 7 million seems like a deal even if he is a little old, he is certainly not washed up yet.
