jwebst1
I guess I'm an idiot.... how can they sign him before 12:01 tonight? I guess it's a good signing by the G-Men...
Oldskool
I guess I'm an idiot.... how can they sign him before 12:01 tonight?I guess it's a good signing by the G-Men... He was cut by the team so his contract was null and void. He never was a free agent. Just the same way that Isaac Bruce could have signed with any team. dinothekid
That is a great deal for someone of his skill and experience. He would have fit nicely in our cap situation as a depth corner.

TD_washingtonredskins
Great pickup for them. Looks like we'll need to add that #2 WR to pass successfully on them!

CPstretch
they will probably draft a CB too because they still are thin at that position. they will start madison and peterson but their nickel will be curtis deloach or corey webster which is pretty gross. peterson is getting up there in age too so they might look to groom his replacement. Tom [Giants fan]
Actually CP, Corey Webster will probably be the other starting CB. Petersen may never play football again. Webster showed signs this past season that he is going to be a very good CB. And now he will have Madison to learn from. The Giants may even look to sign another free agent CB. But I think LB is their top priority now.

HeHateMe
Should solidify at least one side of the field. High hopes for Webster in NY, and he should pan out nicely. But Madison will play at a good level for so long. Still nice to have him teach Webster and DeLoatch the ropes.
elkabong82
Decent pick-up at best, he is getting up there. I think the offense is more questionable and in need of a revamp at this point, as Tiki is getting up there, and Eli is 50/50 on the field. Mania
This is definitly an improvement over Will Allen, even though Sam Madison is on the downside of his career.

Eli was in his first year as a starter and will only get better. Tiki hasn't shown any sides of declining. The Giants staff has said they have identified Eli's problem and will be working on it during the offseason with him. The Giants' offense is just fine. The defense has several holes to fill. CB was addressed and they are working on the LB problem.
SonnyRules
So, instead of Steve Smith burning Madison all day long, Santana Moss gets to make toast twice a year.....great!!!!
s0crates
I imagine Sam Madison will do a better job covering Santana Moss than Will Allen.
ratbert_rizzo
']:doh:Tiki hasn't shown any sides of declining. I'm not sure if you have noticed but 30 year old RBs don't show signs of declining, they just do very rapidly. But I always liked Tiki. Has anybody else thought that the Sam Madison deal was awfully cheap. Maybe I'm just used to the basketball and baseball contracts but 4 years 7 million seems like a deal even if he is a little old, he is certainly not washed up yet.
