DeanCollins
Seriously, thier cars consist of one big cage. thier seat has some many belts, straps, and head/body restraints not to mention the auto fire extinguishers. I mean what's next? Pack the drivers in foam rubber  and everytime one of them has a runny nose, out comes the caution flag which in many races determines the winner  They ain't got the cojones' to race with these guys. WSB-get real!

zoony
Well Dean, my advice is that when you move to North Carolina, keep your voice down on these matters. You'll thank me.

DeanCollins
Ask Dale Earnhardt if Nascar drivers are pansies. No disrespect to DE. Nascar deaths are very rare, roadracing deaths are a regular occurence. What I'm saying is what's so great about these restricter plate armored personel carriers that follow each other around cause they don't have enough power to drive around the track by themselves? I actually don't care about NASCAR. I think it's the most boring sport in the world. All racing is to me is a bunch of cars, motorcycles, dune buggies, go karts, et al going around in circles. Not my idea of fun. But to call these guys pansies is absurd. I'd like to see you or anyone else hop in a car and drive around a track for 4 hours straight. Think you could do it? DeanCollins
. I'd like to see you or anyone else hop in a car and drive around a track for 4 hours straight. Think you could do it? Sure, you could teach anyone to drive a Nascar, but how many could you even get on a Superbike, let alone get off one at 190 mph like this! Thats not the point. Nowhere here has made a thread calling Superbike racers pansies. If anyone could teach you to drive NASCAR then why don't you go ahead and sign up for some classes? Then get yourself a sponsor and we'll see you on the tracks!
SUNSTONE
I think Nascar is the most deadly sport??? Several drivers have died racing. I don't think anyone in the NFL has ever died?? That says a lot about how tough it is to race. They say you lose about 10 pounds on every race.

Pete
uh oh........honorary_hog is not going to like this...... :tantrum:    There's nothing more thrilling then doing 180mph on 2 wheels. I did a fair ammount of knee draggin back in the day. Not because I've done it, but it takes a very special type of person to road race bikes. Besides the argument is from a spectators point of view. Admittedly the title is incomplete and I'll add ......compared to WSB riders" I just taking a jab at Nascar fans because I think that they are following a fad, for lack of a better word, and that they aren't really race fans. I watch Nascar occasionally (Daytona, Talladega) I've been to both, but I also watch F1, NHRA, Roadralley, GP moto, WSB, AMA SB, Supercross, Speedway, Flatrack, and Outdoor MX. I am a race fan. Big Weirdo
Because I have an AMA license instead! Besides the argument is from a spectators point of view. So you can't be taught how to drive a stock car because you have different license?
DeanCollins
So you can't be taught how to drive a stock car because you have different license? No, I'd jump in one tomorrow if I wanted to. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 8. By the time I got my first car (age 19) I'd already had 7 motorcycles. Who Del, I was a motorcycle courier in DC for over 2 years (20-22). How am I supposed to have fun in a car?

brewdogmike
250,000 fans are going to watch the Cup race at Las Vegas on Sunday. That's in person, not counting the millions watching at home. So, what's your point?
Maxito
Lets see if we can make an analogy of this. So your saying that Nascar are pansies becuase they have a cage to protect them, and WSB riders don't So that means that current football players are pansies because they are wearning more pads and protection than players that were playing 40 to 50 years ago. I know that it is two different sports but it's the same concept.
DeanCollins
I think Nascar is the most deadly sport???Several drivers have died racing. not even close, Well there both pansies compared to PBR Riders. PBR sould turn the focus, of the sport, on the Bull. After all, it's a contest between the Men and the Bulls, and the Bull's usually win. That's who I root for. My Favorite is "Jack Daniels" But if you compare PBR to WSB it is similar in that the racers have to stay on fast moving machine, that can kill you, with G forces included, weighs thousands of pounds. Except it's for allot longer than 8 seconds

Hockey players played without helmets till the late 80's (Langeway was one of the last "grandfathered" un helmeted players) Rugby players wear next to no protective equiptment. But your ananolgy doesn't work, NFL players aren't moving at 190 mph.
Chief skin
Yeah those bikeriders are tough any kind of motorsport racing takes guts and a crazy personality. SUNSTONE
Hockey players played without helmets till the late 80's (Langeway was one of the last "grandfathered" un helmeted players) Rugby players wear next to no protective equiptment. But your ananolgy doesn't work, NFL players aren't moving at 190 mph. Those two sports don't consist of players slamming into each other, like the NFL. So they are panzys. Ok, maybe not panzys. There is a reason for the protection in sports, just like there is a good reason in NASCAR. Without helmets in the NFL, people would die. In NASCAR people die anyways, with protection or without.
