ESPN: Arrington says Washington wasn't "comfortable fit"

This line definitely caught my attention:

The Redskins could very well see Arrington again. He said he wants to sign with an NFC East team.

"I want to come back and walk in FedEx Field once a year," he said.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- if he ends up with a big blue star on his helmet, I'm going to be sick. And I bet Jerruh would be more than happy to stick it to the Redskins fans by signing him too.

how many times does someone have to make a thread that doesnt add anything new to the lavar drama. you arent sharing anything new with us. we all knew this yesterday when it was said, 10 threads were made, and all merged. i bet some moderators are going to go bald with all the hair theyve been pulling the past few days.

seriously guys, we need to let this lavar thing go. i was almost prepared for his departure so the emotional toll wasnt that bad. he's gone, he was great while he was here, and i'll for one will always be a huge lavar fan, but it i thinks its best for all of us to look toward the future now. we have a very promising team for the first time in along while. lets keep the focus on the team that we have

Listen pal, the moderators said that news articles pertaining to LaVar are exempt from the "no more LaVar threads" edict. While this may not contain hot-off-the-press news like what he ate for breakfast this morning, it does contain him expressly saying that he wants to play for one of our direct competitors, which was the portion I highlighted.

If you want to get mad, yell at the 500 people who started LaVar threads without articles, which made searching to see if the topic of "LaVar to the NFC East" had been brought up pretty difficult.

"You're not sharing anything new..." Well, neither are you, buddy.

agreed...i'm getting sick of reading all the posts from every mod-wannabe out there who can't wait to jump on someone, anyone, any post, any where...be it justified or not. it doesn't help the problem but rather further exacerbates it by drowning what useful information there is to be found on this forum in a deepening abyss of white noise.

I must be in the minority here, but I am distraught over this move. It has always been difficult seeing the old 'Skins come back as filthy Eagles and Giants. I honestly can't remember a 'Skins player going to Dallas.

Champ was a good trade and I could stomach Thrash, Mitchell, and Barber. Trotter is a turncoat, plain and simple. Lavar has represented all that was being a Redskin to my crew (the family). Regardless of the cap ramifications, I just can't see the positives so I guess next season can't come soon enough.

I am disappointed in the process that it has gotten to this point with Lavar. It will be extremely difficult for me to see him return in an opponents uniform, let alone one from the East.

A true die hard that is struggling mightily with this one....

Lavar is overrated. He only made 3 noteworthy plays his entire career in DC. He was always out of position. He couldn't grasp Williams scheme. His salary was too big. He didn't have much of an impact. He was a prima donna. The Coaches know best. It won't be hard to replace him.

Lavar haterade minions coming in 3,2,1...

I realize that what you say is true, and in a pure football sense, we probably did the right thing. But are you saying that you look forward to seeing him at least twice a year? I'm not quite to that point yet.

 That was sarcasm dude!

While I do think Lavar ultimately was being paid a lot of money, and I can see how his departure is helpful in that avenue, I wish we would have kept him. Ultimately, it didn't work out.

If you've read some of my past posts on this matter, you'll see I thought we should have given it one more year. Why? Arrington's knee injury is so serious that it takes two full seasons to recover. His first year of being 100% by researched standards is the 06-07 season. I find it ironic that some fans were so willing to usher him the door even though he was right up there with Washington and Marshall when he actually got to play regularly in terms of impact. Sure, he was inconsistent, but he was injured!

So to answer your question, no I'm not looking forward to a healthy Lavar Arrington possibly facing the Redskins twice a year. Most people aren't, and those who would laugh it off and say McCune can just slide in at MLB and Marshall will excel at WLB(He's better suited for MLB, he didn't have much of an impact in '04 at the WLB and wasn't a playmaker) are just deluding themselves. The WLB in Williams scheme needs an athletic playmaker who is able to shed blocks and use their physical ability to hold things down and redirect runs back to the inside. Arrington when healthy and if he could have reconciled with the staff would have been that player.

This is one of the more reasonable posts I've read.

:notworthy

The point of "who will fit in to the system now" has hopefully been or is being addressed. I have no clue based on our current personnel as to how this will go. (Holdman as WLB, i hope not) I will be watching this very close as well.

Let's hope Marty makes a play for Lavar so he can join up with Merriman and we only have to concern ourselves with him once a year at best.
