WHALEN
hahaha who do you think Lavar was? he didnt even play third downs. he is an injury milking joketo all that dont already know: Lavar Arrington is NOT a good football player. Chris please put the crack pipe down.
Ambrus
How bout we get Antonio Pierce back. I think Pierce signed a big contract and I dont think the giants would cut him. It would be nice though.
HailSkinz1
IT won't be a big name, I guarantee it. If you don't want to be here, you won't. If you're bigger than the team, you won't be here either. Gibbs & williams will find a player that fits their system, and sign him. Most of us will probably hate it because he won't be a "big name" He'll be a big name by the end of the season, though......... You're right on! This is a system defense and we'll find someone to play. There is nothing positive about LaVar that will be missed. Hail, H
PleaseGoForTheWin
Yea, I have confidence in the coaches to find a good replacement, big name or not. As for LaVar, he just hasn't been the same since the knee injury. Maybe he'll regain his form, but honestly, who didn't see this coming? Too much money and need for attention and not enough production.
CPstretch
chris clemons was coming in for lavar on third downs every single possession near the end of the season (until chris got hurt). is he ready to play every down at weak side LB is my only concern. i think lemar marshall can be a pro bowl weak side linebacker and he is more built to play there instead of in the middle. i want to see mccune play MLB because the guy is gigantic and looks very suited to play MLB
dmek25
holdman is a free agent and i seriosly doubt he's back.r lewis is too old and talks the same talk arrington has the last season and a half.petersen is a tad over rated(and over priced)maybe cleamons if he is ready.i think greg lewis can field a very strong defense plugging in no names
Ajokah
\LOL come on now get serious. You should be worried about who is gonna be the vocal leader of the defense. Washington is to soft spoken to do that Vocal leader? This D is lead by G. Williams, not Lavar. We have vocal leaders all over this D. I love Lavar and will truely wish him the best wherever he goes, but we have men capable of stepping in.

Washington is to soft spoken to do that I dont agree with that. He seems pretty vocal on the field and he plays with a lot of intensity. He may not be as gifted as LA was but i think he could fill the role just fine

Live4Skins
Guys, and Gals. Sometimes I wonder why we can make a man KING (La Var) in D.C. and then "Off with his head!" so quickly. I understand football and appreciate all that La Var has given to us in the past 5 1/2 years. I will miss you MADLY! I know this is an opinionated site, but I cannot believe some of the things that you people can write about a man who just like you wants to enjoy, succeed, and fullfill his dreams. If you were in his shoes I think you too would feel betrayed by an organization who puts promises on the table that they cannot keep up to. Think about it. Your an orphan and you get adopted by a family who you totally dislike. What do you do? Well thats happened to La Var how many times? 4, 5 times? Yeah damb straight your gonna be confused, pissed, and lost. Shoot I wouldnt want to stick around either. I wish La Var the best, stay healthy, and TRUE happiness where ever you go. I just hope he doest forget that there are some loyal, loving fans in D.C. :2cents:

There is nothing positive about LaVar that will be missed.Hail, H That is the biggest BS that this team sold everyone on last season. Main man every defense has some type of system. Why in the hell is everyone so hypnotized by Williams and his system? People talk like he's reinventing the wheel. I guess Marvin Lewis and Ray Rhodes defense weren't as complex as Williams. They've only been to and won Super Bowls with their defenses. I guess Warrick Holdman is the answer.

The best system in the world doesn't help you a lick if you are stuck playing with guys like Warrick Holdman. You'd think that guy's uniform was made out of velcro as much as he gets stuck on blockers. Having a good system is all well and good, but you still need talent. Just look at Marvin Lewis. Best defense of the past decade with the Ravens, average at best so far with the Bengals. The coaches can put the players in a position to suceed, but the players have to actually do it. Just ask Gregg Williams, he'll tell you.
Donita35
You people and this undisaplined stuff is sickning!!!! It's almost like you all know what defense is being run. Good grief!!! Also, how in the world would ya'll know if he is a problem or anything in the locker room....none of ya'll play for the team!!!! None!!!I am very glad that this forum is a very small part of a large fan base, because this is crazy. But wait, just wait, it will be some other player next year and the year after that. I wonder what you all would say if good ol Marcus Washington got hurt for a year. I guess ya'll would be dogging him too. Someone had said it before on this board with the way most of ya'll act...........why other than the paycheck would you want to stay in this area. I don't think I have seen such uninformed fans before in my life!!!!!!! And as far as attitude............just let Clinton Portis have a problem with Coach Byner, or what about Sean Taylor!! Ya'll want attitude?!?!?!?! Photo will you marry me....please! :applause: :applause: :applause: Seriouly though, this is awesome. You have my vote for the hall of fame of posts. :notworthy :notworthy I was going to add something else but you pretty much said it all.
NavyDave
No one is concerned with the big names what is needed is defensive linemen so we dont have to foolishly blitz the kitchen sink to get pressure then watch it get blocked.

If that was the case we would have had the number one defense last year instead on the number 10.
