I just figured that since in the past ten minutes I have read quite a few stupid posts from beginning posters, which were closed for obvious reasons, why not just start an "official" stupid post thread so they can all come together in the same thread? We can even help the younger new idiots and trolls along by putting up a banner as you log in giving you a hotlink to come straight here. Yes, a stupid thread I know, but at least if you come on this one you know what to expect. :D

You ain't no daisy, but I'll be your huckleberry. Here is my stupid post: Jason LaCanfora is so smart, and such an accurate reporter. You can tell he does his research. I think he has what it takes to be the next pasquerelli (spelled wrong, maybe, but that name is harder than shawn misspelled sean):eaglesuck

So, what's your solution?

I am guilty of stupid threads as well, but I am trying to behave. My suggestion is something that has been suggested before, have a minimum amount of posts before allowed to start a thread. The hard part is to set the limit, but whatever it is I would respect. At this point I still catch myself getting ready to start a stupid thread and thankfully stop myself. Therefore, at this point in my posting history I shouldn't be able to start threads, maybe atleast 500 posts? You're never going to please everyone, but I believe people will learn what warrants a decent thread after ?500? posts and seeing examples of good started threads.:2cents:

Won't help. I'm at over 4,000 posts, and just chomping at the bit to start a "Lavar needs to stop talking to the media" thread. Honestly guys, I have some real insight into this topic that nobody else has thought of (or posted already 1,000 times).

How about a primer for newbies [something that would popup when I newer member (within 500 posts) attempted to start a new thread] - "here's what tends to work, here's what doesn't", "check other posts for similar topic", etc.

But it doesn't address the problem, in that they won't read it anymore than the Forum rules, they won't listen anymore than they do to anyone else, the don't even skim through a thread to see if someone just said what they wanted to, etc....... do you see a trend here? There's really only one solution that makes a difference, self restraint tempered by Art's caustic commentary (said with all due respect)
