Califan007 The Constipated
The biggest "positive" I would see in Ramsey is that he has yet to start an entire season, nonetheless start in two back-to-back seasons within the same system. His time in the NFL so far has been filled with being put in as the starter then being yanked back out, then reinserted, then yanked out again, then reinserted again...then yanked out again. No consistency whatsoever in his playing time, which I would imagine effected his development to a significant degree. It's gotta be hard to develop into the QB you're capable of when your 1 1/2 seasons worth of starts is sprinkled over four years and two coaches/schemes. Combatant
David Carr needs an offensive line desperately. You put anyone behind them and they will suffer

SackMachine
Beaudry's list is better. Dont forget Jeff Garcia (he started a few for the lions) Kyle Orton can't complete a pass, the Bears relied on their running game.
Califan007 The Constipated
How about a slight rephrasing??...lol Which player would you rather have as your starting QB for the next two seasons...Patrick Ramsey or: Kyle Boller Alex Smith Ken Dorsey Joey Harrington Rex Grossman Kyle Orton JP Losman David Carr Gus Frerotte Charlie Frye Kerry Collins Aaron Brooks Drew Bledsoe Jeff Garcia And just being inquisitive here...not making a pro-Ramsey or anti-Ramsey case. I'd make this its own thread, but it would be locked and added to this one, anyway.

BigRay
Honestly, I think he'd be the best fit with the Raiders. I just can't see him as Raider to me he just doesn't fit the mode of the Raiders. Well, The Raiders I use to remember . lol
BrunellSuperbowl
Ramsey is not better then anybody. He is young and has a strong arm. Other then that has not looked good enough to get a team in the playoffs. He did not play at a major d 1 conference. He is a back up.

I think he gets more heat than he should get his O-line is terrible any qb would be running for their lives behind that line..

A talented young guy with a nice arm and good overall skills, who has been brutally beaten up early in his career and thus is tough to evaluate. I think the Lions would be very smart to bring in Ramsey.
ZoEd
Aaron I can't win a game Brooks needs to be taken off the list? He was benched for God's sake. Too inconsistent, way too inconsistent. Sometimes I don't think people watch football. I spent almost 4 yrs being subjected to Saints football and I can assure you he's not that good. Granted we do not get a lot of Saints games in this area the ones I have seen him play he played well .. I agree he is way too inconsistent but this guy has the tools to be successful. I have watched football since I was 6 thank you . Anyway, I think maybe a change would do him some good he needs to go to a place that can turn his career around I think he wore out his welcome in NO and their fans might be tired of him.. They're at least entertaining the idea. They did play Garcia last year, and now Martz is coming in. I think Martz could work wonders with Ramsey. FanofSuperskin!
While he may be no worse, He's never shown himself to be any better than anybody on the list. It's not his fault, with the way he's been treated and played over the past 4 years, but let's face it, his development has been screwed up and he'll never be a decent starter. RDSKNFN_48
Let's face it folks. Teams are going to downplay their interest in Patrick Ramsey because they expect him to be released. It's like "Running through the water to get the dogs off the trail". I know i'm overstating the obvious.

Yah, sometimes I wonder a little bit if JG hurts his cause by admitting that he doesn't want players that don't want to be here--because it lowers their market value at least somewhat. Ultimately though, I'm absolutely positively confident that his "tell the truth" strategy (the simplest and best strategy goin'!) has a positive net effect.
