How much money can Washington Spend if New CBA is reached?

Suppose the NFLPA and owners come to the agreement that brings the cap to the originally planned cap of 108 million dollars. Due to the heavy restructing occuring at Redskins park, and these expected cuts, how much would the Redskins willing to spend in the new market? By my rough estimates, it seems thought the skins would be able to spend around 10-15 million dollars, which could yield in a great offseason.

yeah it got strangely troll free soon after the news of the extended deadline. Sign a new deal, and we will hear crickets chirping :D

God I love that sound around here.

Nothing but True redskin fans, talking true redskin football.

Nothing beats that.

Just a guess (and hoefull wishing)

It the cap was supposed to be around $95, but the new CBA would make it a reported $108 million

we would have about $13 millon to play with

HAIL!!!! Also i think the redskins are successful, because of the beautiful homes near redskins park, any free agent would love to live in this area

Its amazing how calm the Skins organization has been through this. I think Mr Sndyer puts winning above everything, including his checkbook. I think the owners will bend up from 56% hopefully the players will come down under and everything will work out.

Look, I don't want to spend big money. Let's get some quality depth with our O and D lines, let's re-sign Clark, Royal and Cartwright, and then let's look for a big, but not big-name, WR. We don't need to make drastic moves, regardless of how much money we have to work with. Besides which, maybe this event has taught us that we shouldn't get *quite* so close to the fire with cap matters.

sign royal.. we need more production from our TE, we need a legit #2 WR( randel-el, jurevius, moulds) . more depth on both lines and secondary help (safety, corner). i think we can get help in the draft by finding a dline man

You are not going to see a 2000 spending spree. But if everything works out the way the team wants it to, we can fill our holes and add quality depth before the draft

Then in the draft the team can free wheel a bit and work on adding long term depth like we did in the past draft

If these are not contingent we are golden, but if they are we will still have some restructuring to do. If these are all contingent we will still be over the cap, but not nearly as much as we were.

The Portis restructure seemed pretty draconian, gave him fewer years to get a lower #. Others probably moved as many $ to the out years as possible or did the same, so they might kill us on the cap if the CBA is extended and we implement those restructures. Using the 108 # and assuming the CBA is more or less extended, the expected cuts/roster moves like Noble and Ramsey plus the automatic nature of some of our roster bonuses and a couple of restructures (not so draconian), we will have room to sign/replace Clark and Royal, bring in a #2 WR, depth at oline and a good DE while signing all our draft picks and bringing in a few UDFAs/street FAs to fill out our TC roster to 85 or so guys we need.

My estimate is 5-6 million.

We will be so well of that all trolls will be complaining and saying we cheated.

It will be Dallas week all over again.

Yeah, here's a quote, "The Redskins were dominated by the labor talks, but with four minutes left the deal was signed and the REDSKINS WIN!!!!"

Hopefully there isnt an agreement and we still are under the cap enough to resign some players but scare the league in 07.

The difference with 2007 compared to 2000 is we will have a competant coach a QB that doesnt have a noodle arm, a kicker and depth to offset the huge amount of injuries that was ignored by people only focusing on the "fortune 500" redskins.

Heck no cap year in 2007 and Redskins One would be in Hawaii for the pro bowl with eyes trained on 14 potential future Redskins starting in the game that are 30 and under
