smashmowf
Do you think this would decrease or increase the sexual assault rate in this country? It just came to mind after reading an article on Cnn that stated Chicago was going to post pictures on the web of those caught soliciting.. Yes I know its legal in vegas, and probably a few other places but the majority of the country counts it as illegal.

codeorama
I would never use a whore, but I don't see why we spend tax money on trying to eliminate them. Hell, you go on a date, spend 100 bucks and may not get any....LOL. I think law enforcement resources could be used in better ways.

DeanCollins
Don't see how making it legal would decrease sexual asualts. That would not change the phsycology behind the asaults, offenders often kill prostitutes because they hate women, it's not an access issue. I'm not sold on its efficacy in that department, but I still believe it should be legal.

Destino
Are sexual assaults really because guys can't get any? I thought it was all but proven that it was typically a power issue. The guys either can't handle rejection or otherwise have some serious hate issues - and they go out and hurt them to feel power over them. As for legalizing prostitution - I don't know. The sex slave industry is a serious problem and human trafficing could increase. I don't know enough about either problem however to say for certain. I aslo have concerns about how overly sexual society is becoming. Sex is becoming more and more of a product to buy and sell and I think that devalues the human being. SUNSTONE
Talk about something that would change society in a very bad way, this would do it. Diseases would probably shoot up. Marriages, and familys would shrink some. Divorce would go up. Prostitution would be common amoung misfit teenage girls who don't believe in themselves. Even strong women would do it if the money was right.
HOF44
I think as others have said it won't affect assaults much, that really a different issue. However I do think they should legalize prostitution. It would be safer for the woman legalized than the way it currently runs. Plus we need the tax revenue.
Redskins Diehard
I think law enforcement resources could be used in better ways. I think we should legalize everything and then have no need for law enforcement!!!! I say we legalize prostitution and drugs and then we could spend the money we save on addicts and HIV patients! Mr. S
I don't necessarily think we should legalize it. Legalizing it would bring in other things that we may not be as prepped for. Instead, they should try and regulate it with brothel houses that have to meet certain requirements. That would at least save some of the trouble on the streets. If prostitution was legal, then there may be a spike in the amount of people on the streets (im guess that's the kind we are talking about). I also feel if more women get into it, there may be a greater use of drugs as well.

Violent crimes would decrease significantly if everyone was stoned and ummmm satisfied. And what would be more peaceful than a society where people could head down to the corner store and pick up a dime bag and a woman? As far as traffic. You live here, I don't think it could be much worse with an anything goes system. Seems like that is about what we have anyway!

An illegal activity that is regulated by the government seems to me to be legal.

Redskins Diehard
You can't do that now? :whoknows: I said "corner store"...not "corner". I guess it may be easier with a well advertised one stop shop.
