Art
Guys, this isn't an option for the players. We work these deals in for players and WE control it. They can't say yes or no. It just happens. This is why most people need to relax and let things play out.

MorgantownHokie88
I can't wait to listen to the media tomorrow when we cut 6-7 guys, who we were probably going to be cut anyways, deal or no deal, and they will make a bid deal about it. Guys just chill. Everything is not as bad as it seems.
Lurman
It doesn't take a dedicated player to accept cash up front :-)

The Evil Genius
Clayton is using the conservative 92 mil # for right now.

Art
Again, people, these are contractually obligated triggers. If we want to utilize them, we can. It's obviously true on a guy like Portis. We knew this was to happen the day we signed him.
CPstretch
i wish we knew how much brunells new deal is worth and how much we ended up saving. he is a true redskin for restructuring for the 2nd year in a row.
Peregrine
Now imagine if we reworked Samuels, Jansen, and Arrington as well. Think of all the cap money we will save!
spitfire071
Now imagine if we reworked Samuels, Jansen, and Arrington as well. Think of all the cap money we will save! and still cut some of the non-core players who were on they're way out any way
Jumbo
I won't believe it until I see it from a credible source. If so, good for Portis. Only if others would follow suit. I'm with you---lets wait and see...but I'm also with you in saying that CP would be quite the guy, which doesn't surprise me...and if it comes to it...i think you'll see a lot of that kind of attitude from a lot of our guys if not all...its one of the great advantages of having Gibbs and emphasizing untiy and team character

skinsman4u
I think real Redskin fans make core Redskins want to stay like Portis, Jansen, Moss, Cooley to name a few
Joe Gibbs II
If there was 1 player I would say not to restructure even w/o his consent it would be Portis or Santana. Great stuff.

elkabong82
LA has stated that he wants to be a redskin, and wants to continue being a redskin for a while. No doubt he has restructured, probably samuels has also. In any case, those restructurings, along with a 6-7 player cut put us under the cap enough to obtain one, maybe two, decent FA's. This is with the current cap of 94.5 mill, and no cba.
The Bounty Hunter #21
If this is true, Portis is freakin great, and hes already one of my favorite players true that.... :notworthy

BadKarma
I dont know anyone who would refuse the opportunity to turn non guaranteed money into lump sum cash now. This has been the key to our free agent prowess for the past 5 years. Nothing new for the marketing machine. :applause:
