We don't know just where Ramsey is going yet. But we know he's going. Joe Gibbs has given Ramsey permission to try to work out a deal with some other team. So far Ramsey is doing it quietly, without blasting Gibbs. And so far we do not have a Frank Thomas/Kenny Williams situation -- though if Ramsey chose to spew, we certainly could. RIDETHEWALRUS
I'm am with you. I wish we had had a chance to see him get a fair shake at things here, but the way he has handled his situation makes me proud to say he was a Redskin. Good luck to you Patrick, except during your homecomings.
Never21Forgotten36
We may be seeing a new twist to the ending of this story if Mark Brunell does not heavily restructure his contract. I have a gut feeling that even Gibbs HAS to know that Mark is not worth 4Mil a year, and should he decide not to make less money this season to help out a team that is 100% desperate for cap space, TH could very well be saying bon voyage to Mark Brunell. Agreed. Ramsey is a class act and I really hope he gets a shot with a decent team. I too will be pulling for him when he's not playing against us. Brunell's unwillingness to lower his cap hit may mean P.Ram stays. Though (increased cap hit aside) that would probably be the best thing for the team, I don't think it happens. Truant
Classy act from start to (seemingly) finish. I wish him well and I think he'll prove the organization made a mistake with the way he was handled. Good luck Pat.

Omega4ce
I always liked Ramsey and still do. I really hoped he would have gotten more of a chance. And before somebody comes up and says "But with Brunell we made it to the playoffs" lets think about that we dont know what season we would have gotten with Ramsey under center. It could have been worse but it could have been better as well. Just think of the Rams Superbowl season, all the hype about Warner, but who says Green wouldnt have lead the Rams as well to a Superbowl victory. G-Prime
This sucks.. He should have been our starter for the last 3 years straight and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
The Full Monty
Ok, here's the question, so we all basically like Ramsey and want him to do well, can we agree that Miami is the best situation for him, provided they give a good pick? Great ProBowl Wide Receiver in Chambers, a great Tight End in McMichael, an up-and-comer in Ronnie Brown, and a solid, well-coached defense that Saban will only improve through the draft. I mean come on---he'd have to beat out Gus Frerrotte to get the #1 job. How hard can that be? He'd be in a great position to succeed--I think Saban has the Dolphins on the rise, they had a winning season just one year after being the league's doormat. I'd hate to see Patrick end up with the Jets --- HORRIBLE SITUATION. Horrible offensive line. Massive holes throughout the roster. And a brand new head coach so young, Bugel's probably got underwear older than that guy. And top it all off, his most reliable receiver would be The Toe. Oakland's a mess too, I wouldn't want him out there in Davisland. But I truly hope the Jets don't get him. He might as well retire.

Cskin
I don't get you people who say it's debateable he got a shot under Gibbs. It was Joe Gibbs that gave him the starters job last year WITHOUT A COMPETITION. Unfortunately, a lackluster performance in training camp and in preseason action FAILED to give Gibbs confidence in his abilities. Had he simply done well.... executed the offense, moved the ball, avoided the turnovers, and scored points.... he'd still be the starter. Let's face it... we were all smitten with Ramsey after the Titan game that year. We all love his toughness and gunslinger mentality. But Ramsey has flaws and Gibbs REFUSES to have those as part of his QB position. He has a penchants to stare down receivers, pat the ball... pitter patter his feet.... and hold the ball to long and take drive halting sacks. Heck.. even the cement shoed Mark Rypien had pocket awareness and would slide out of trouble to complete a pass. Ramsey holds...holds... holds.... and then looks for a place to lay down as the rush approaches. That's NOT what Gibbs wants in his QB. I wish Ramsey well... hope he performs well in whatever offense he gets the chance to start. Hopefully that coach can overlook his faults for the sake of his intelligence and huge arm. I wish Ramsey well... hope he performs well in whatever offense he gets the chance to start. Hopefully that coach can overlook his faults for the sake of his intelligence and huge arm. I remember during our successful seasons that during preseason we didn't do so hot and there were concerns. However, the plug was not pulled on the quarterbacks because of that. The only difference between that and Ramsey is that Ramsey never had Gibbs' faith. He had to grudgingly turn the last half of the 2004 season to Ramsey because it was too obvious that Brunnell couldn't hack it. I'm pretty positive that Gibbs was looking for any reason to pull Ramsey. Even before preseason or training camp started he made trades to draft Campbell when there were other areas of concerns, mainly defensive linemen and wide receivers. Either way, it isn't debatable that Ramsey is an overall class act. I feel like, character-wise, he embodies what a Redskin is following the in the steps of people like Monk and Darrell Green. He has ability if someone would just trust him and give him some consistency. Hopefully he will do well like Trent Green, because there is no quarterback i'm rooting for more than Ramsey. No way is it debatable, he got the shaft, do a poll if you really think it's even a question of whether he was shafted. The only thing not debatable, is, as Kornheiser pointed out, his class. RedzoneHunter
Not so fast fella's. I hope we keep him if we don't get what he's worth. I'm tired of over-paying other teams for their players, and letting them under-pay for our players. We gotta start being more efficient and smarter when we do business with other teams. If no team offers what Ramsey is worth, which is at least a #2, then I hope the deal never goes through.
