chaz13
# Here's the juiciest trade rumor yet regarding the No. 1 overall pick in the April 29 NFL college draft: Houston swaps the pick to the New York Jets for unhappy defensive end John Abraham (the Texans need a pass rusher and he's one of the best) and the No. 4 overall pick. Houston would use that selection on Virginia offensive left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson to protect quarterback David Carr, who has been sacked 208 times in his four NFL seasons. It all sounds perfectly logical to me. The Jets would get Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart and the Texans would get two instant high-quality starters in Abraham and Ferguson, who presumably would be a better "can't miss" No. 4 overall pick at offensive tackle than Mike Williams was for Buffalo in 2002. ... The Washington Redskins are trying to trade quarterback Patrick Ramsey. He might be worth a fourth-round pick if the Bills are interested and that's all it would take. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060228/SPORTS0101/602280328/1007/SPORTS

skinstzar
I think that Texans trade is going to happen. It makes so much sense. The Texans don't have much but what they do have is a young QB and a Young RB. If the best Linebacker in 20 was coming out in this draft I think they would keep that pick. I'll take that 4th rounder from the Bills, we can use that as leverage to move up in the third or second round. Having more 2-4th round picks gives you the ability to move up a couple spots if a gem slips into your reach. A sixth like we would get from the Jets, does not. Die Hard
I don't know if that's enough to move up to #1. I love "reasonable" trade speculation Though if I were the Texans... I'd take it.
jimster
that would be a nice deal for Houston, but Houston may have to throw in a low round pick as well.
fpickering
This is an interesting rumor. The move from #4 to #1 overall represents a value of 1200 points according to one draft chart. 1200 points is equivalent to the 12th pick overall which is too high of a price for Abraham. The Jets would have to sweeten the pot a little with another pick in a later round in my opinion. Unless they are desperate to get out of the #1 spot, that is. Die Hard
that would be a nice deal for Houston, but Houston may have to throw in a low round pick as well. Come on, the Giants and Chargers pulled that exact same deal 2 years ago... and the Giants gave up the farm No way the Texans have to sweeten the deal. bigyim
>>>would there be any chance that the Bills could throw in Eric Moulds with the 4th rounder? : ) (although, if Moulds won't redo his contract, he'll probably be thrown out by March 3rd.) The Giants gave up their '05 1st rounder basically just to swap pics. Funny how they didn't get put to the fire for it, though...
BogeyMan
J.P. Lousman must REALLY suck. The ironic thing is, Ramsey was the starter ahead of Losman at Tulane. I don't think a 4th is enough for Ramsey. If the salary cap really is at around $105 million, the Redskins will be able to afford to keep him around. Even if he is not in the plans as QB of the future, he would be valuable insurance to have around next year. That might suck for Ramsey, but it's in the best interests of the Redskins. They're not going to just toss in Moulds, I dont think they want Patrick that bad.
skins5060
I dunno, Mike and Mike were talking about that Jets and Houston with Clayton and they said Abraham would have to agree to that since hes franchised and that not so sure he would want to go to Houston
