Patrick Ramsey to the Arizona Cardinals for Bryant Johnson.

Here are a short list of his vital's

Age: 25

Height: 6' 2"

Weight: 214 lbs.

In League: 4 Yrs

Depth Postion: Backup

College: Penn State

Contract Expires: 2006

Contract Details

Johnson signed a four-year deal in July 2003, according to the Arizona Republic. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Why this makes so much sense:

Ramsey and Johnson are both former first round picks that no longer have prominant places on their prospective team.

Both are in the final year of thier rookie contract thus both are cost fiendly and cost about the same.

Both teams have a need that the other player would fill nicely for them.

True win win deal that allows both players and teams to get a friendly one year audition.

Why this is a good deal for the Skins:

Bryant Johnson is a good player. He has the misfortune of being on the same team as two of the very best recievers in the league and has not been able to get past Boldin and Fitzgerald.

He has also been hampered by a string of inguries that while collectively worrisome, non have been serious. This is what to a large extent pushed him to # 3 in AZ in the first place.

Bryant is from MD, this would be a homecoming for him.

He has the size and strengh we are so wanting at WR and has the abilities to be an excellent NFL player, at 25 he should be hitting his stride.

Ramsey would be a welome addition to AZ as they need something behind Warner and they have said Josh aint it.

Win win, that would prove to be a great investment for the Skins as Johnson will prove to be a very solid WR.

I have also heard that the Cardinals are interested in going after Randle-El, even with the corp of receivers that they already have. This would knock Johnson even further down the chain.

With all the talk about the Skins and Bears with Randle-El, the Cardinals are interested and have a ton of cap room.

I like Johnson, and I have thought this would be a good deal for a while. But if they sign Randle-El, I am wondering if Johnson just simply gets released.

I think the Ramsey for Abraham trade is a done deal just awaiting the new CBA deal to get done. Lots of rumors about it as a possibility and I really think that Dan Snyder KNOWS that we are close to the promised land and we only need a few "studs" to push us over the top. I think this deal gets done!

Absolutely no chance it is a straight up trade. The Jets know Ramsey's percieved value around the league is a 4-6th round pick. Why would the Jets do a straight up with us when they could just offer us a fourth round pick and we would take it? We would have to give our 2nd rounder as well and I don't want any part of that.

Sorry about that. I didnt meant to imply that it's a straight up trade. I think theres more involved than the rumors that are flying around. BUT, I DO think that the Jets get Ramsey and we get Abraham. Who or what else is involved is anyones guess.

I have discussed Johnson on here before, he is big, fast and sure handed...and he gets better every year I believe he caught around 40 balls last year behind Boldin and Fitz. I would be very happy to she Johnson here especially with his small contract. Won't happen though.

I think Gibbs has been pretty clear that a 4-6 round trade for Ramsey is unacceptable, a throw-a-away he won't listen to. When he says that the deal has to be right, I don't think he means a deal for a 6 rounder. That's nuts.

A 6th rounder is worth, approximately, nothing-- sort of equivalent to a Hail Mary.

Johnson has uber potential, but I don't know how interested Arizona will be considering the dal that they just gave Warner. Also it seems that they like to keep a stable of WRs.

I wonder if we might be able to pry somebody out of Detroits stable for Ramsey. They have to be sick of Joey harrington up there by now.
