RiggoReincarnated
If Sean Taylor is convicted (which I doubt and certainly hope isn't the case), how will it effect the Redskins cap figure? Sorry if this has already been answered but I cannot find the answer in a search and the Sean Taylor thread index is no longer at the top of the page. EnFoRcEr_uPu
I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm actually suprised that nobody has thought of it yet. Good point.
RiggoReincarnated
I'm pretty sure its been talked about here before, I just can't find the thread for it. I'm guessing that it will depend on what his contract says as to whether or not the NFL would give the team back his bonus money.
Mr. S
it looks like his 2006 cap hit is 4.691, as per scout.com. His signing bonus is 2.1 almost, and his base salary is 385,000. The rest are all other performances. I think the NFL could void his signing bonus and salary, but the other bonuses will still count?
Fifty Gut
what if worst case scenario he can't play this season, why don't we just put him on IR? would his salary still count against the cap?
frommd
Only guessing here, but I believe most NFL contracts contain some type of moral clause. If he were to go to prison, I think his contract would be voided, and most likely the Skins could recoup some of his signing bonus. That said, I hope he doesn't go to prison. I want to see him on the field.
