Randle El had 35 catches for 558 yards and a touchdown and returned 44 punts for a 10.2-yard average and two touchdowns last season. He threw a touchdown in the Super Bowl. The Redskins clearly need help at receiver, and their punt return game (28th in the NFL) was a season-long exhibition in short gains or fair catches. Randle El is expected to be pursued by Chicago and Philadelphia. Pittsburgh would like to keep Randle El but not at the kind of price he will command on the open market. RDSCNZ20
I guess trying to get another quicker WR is not bad..if we could find a good TE that we can utilize across the middle and in the end zone..

Mr. S
smokescreen, make it look like he's drawing our interest. I know there arent any other receivers as good available, but I have the feeling we are going to have some trick up our sleeve on friday.
TheSchwartz
COULD? COULD go after him? What is this O'Halloran's personal opinion? Shouldn't the reporter do some work to see who they ARE looking at, not just some projection based on his own opinion? I come to this board to see read baseless projections...if he wants to write an article about who they are targeting maybe he should try and get a little inside info...I can get baseless projections off espn.com, gimme some real info... Ryan thats some great JOURNALISM!!!! "Redskins Look at Randle El" Where? When? How? Nope....its If, Could, :blahblah: Awesome article Ryan... Awsome! :jerk: Oh yeah and the editor should be beaten with a 2x4 full of rusty nails for letting the headline read "Redskins Look At Randle El." He should have at least borrowed a "Could" from Ryan to insert in the headline.

jrfriedm
I would be very happy to pick Randle El up, as long as we don't have to give him a huge contract which I think he is going to want.
TheLongshot
Another poorly written media article. What a surprise. This might as well have been one of us writing this, with more speculation not based on fact. Jason
kentuckyskinsfan
You know, it's nice to see posts/articles like that, a month after I posted RANDLE EL as a deffinite fit for us. I remember getting hammared by many that I was crazy and other words."Remeber, the ones who stay quiet and see the big picture, when they speak it is a good idea to listen" IT"S ALL GOOD FOR THE REDSKINS GENERATIONS! TK
Redskins look at Randle El By Ryan O'Halloran THE WASHINGTON TIMES February 27, 2006 Lets see here.... Quote from Pittsburgh's Director of Football Ops Kevin Colbert - Check. "I don't know if he priced himself out [of the our plans]," said Kevin Colbert, director of football operations for the Steelers. "We don't know the interest level, but we certainly have an interest in keeping Antwaan. Anytime you win a Super Bowl, it enhances your value, maybe artificially. "Antwaan is a unique player. When you look at his sheer numbers, you're not going to be real impressed, but there's no doubt he was a big part of our success." Quote from Cleveland's General Manager Phil Savage - Check. "He's not a cookie-cutter receiver," Savage said. "He's a little different, and that's one thing I admire about what Pittsburgh has done. They've taken a Randle El and a Hines Ward and have known what to do with those guys. They've been creative." Take the above quotes & run with 'Redskins Look At Randle El' headline without any direct quotes or proof on the matter - Brilliant!
skinfan2k
if we have the cap space, he would be a great weapon on our offense. this offense would be very unpredictable and along with al saunders this offense could be on the verge of greatness. we could line up randel el as a fb or hback and offenses would not know what to do. SkinsTillIDie
We need a reliable target for 3rd downs, not a trickster who averaged 2 receptions per game last year, and 2.5 receptions per game throughout his career. Please pass

fdarugar
This guy is the most overrated WR in the league, compare his numbers to Az Zahir Hakim's and you will see what I mean...Hakim has even had a better career for god's sake. Randle El http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5948 Az Hakim http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4321 I say for the price tag give me Az.
