We called Little Tavern "club LT" we use to hit it on the way home from georgetown on Fri and Sat nights

We used to cruise Hot Shoppes and Topps drive in. Hot Shoppes was for the 'clicks' and Topps was for the 'greasers'

I did not like gino's or Red Barn

The Last Hot Shoppes lasted until the 90's in PG County.....

There was one in Bailye's Crossroads in maybe 9 or 2000.I ate there about a week before it closed.

I forgot all about Burger Chef.I remeber a Jack N The Box in Oxon Hill.

The craziest place was Chicken George's Chicken Shack.

Oh the memories. Lums.. we used to drink there when we were about 17 because they never carded.

Gino's - Used to go there when I worked construction during summer break, I had a frien that worked there and She would just fill up a bag with burgers and fries and charge me 2 bucks

Hot Shoppes - Used to eat there when I worked at Tysons Corner Mall (when it was only 1 level.)

Little Tavern - Late night bag o burgers!

Holley Farms Chicken in Mclean ... Best Taters on the planet

Jack in the Box Mclean...Used to cruise through late night and hang out.

What's wrong with Shakey's and Arthur Treachers? Never been to Lum's but I remember the one in Lanham.

Church's and Golden Skillet was good. As for buffet places, anyone remember Fabulous Feast (Forestville)?

Jack-in-the-Box still exists, but mainly in the MidWest and West Coast. Went to one a few years ago in Dallas, and wasn't impressed.

Chesapeake Bay Seafood House was the bomb back in the day. We used to get the waiter to hook us up by having one person get the $20+ Alaskan Crab Legs, and everyone else got the $5 fish. He would bring us anything we would want, as long as we tipped him good.

Though not a full restaurant Ferrell's and Caravelle's (sp) were great ice cream joints.

Anyone NOT have a birthday at Farrells? People used to go crazy when someone got that big huge ice cream sundae that could feed like 10+ people and they brought it out on a red stretcher, ring bells, sound the sirens, and run around like idiots!!! It was great.

Plus, they had the best candy store ever.

Wow, serious nostalgia!

Horn & Horn was wild: I hadn't thought of that in years, but my Dad and I used to hit the one on Rockville Pike every so often.

As for Little Tavern, one of my good friends used to refer to their burgers as death balls. We swore off them early in high school, as the gastric consequences were too great.

The same Shakey's is off Silver Hill Rd. near the RV palce..........I think.Godfather's is no longer in Metro DC.

Arthur Treacher's in in Marlow Heights was a dump in the early 80's,I know its a cesspool now.Red Barn same thing along with Johnny Boy and Little Chicken Wing and Danny's were heart-attacks waiting to happen.

Ok, if you really want to go back in time.I remember when they have little restaurants in the back of Murray's and Woolworth's.

Didn't all the local Gino's become KFC's in this area? I remember Gino's also had Col Sanders with all his crazy herbs & spices.

Loved Red Barn. Used to get the Barney Buster (or whatever) when I was a kid. When we lived in Falls Church, there used to be one right near the Frozen Custard Stand.

Wasn't there a Hot Shoppes in Tysons... ? I remember there was also a Burger Chef right across the street from Tysons and a Jack in the Box where the Taco Bell now stands at the intersection of Gallows and 29. That freaking Pizza Hut has been there forever.

There used to be a restaurant in the People's Drug (now CVS) in Yorktowne Shopping Center at the intersection of Gallows and 50. My Dad owned a Barber Shop in there (Mark I Men's Hairstylists) until '86.
