Dana87
Broncos | Team has decision to make with Putzier Thu, 23 Feb 2006 06:17:36 -0800 Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos TE Jeb Putzier is due a $1.5 million roster bonus in early March and a base salary of $1.5 million for the 2006 season. His agent, Joe Linta, said he has not heard whether Denver will exercise the option. The Broncos could attempt to restructure the deal. If no agreement is reached, they could release Putzier. Last season Putzier split time with TE Stephen Alexander. "If Denver does exercise the option, I would hope they'd give him the chance to catch 60, 70 balls and become a Pro Bowl-caliber tight end I know he can be," Linta said. Putzier's contract is likely to be addressed next week. If they release him I think we shoud give him a look. #88 Jeb Putzier | TE Full Name: Jebediah Lee Putzier Born: January 20, 1979 Height: 6-4 Weight: 256 lbs. jivelikenice
I woulnd't make a move for him. He has good hands but isn't a very good blocker.
Westbrook36
Didn't Denver give up a 2nd or 3rd for this guy in the last 2 years? I know the Eagles wanted him at one time.
skindogger47
I like his name. Jebediah Lee. He should drop the Putzier at the end, then I'd think about picking him up.
Combatant
I wouldn't think about picking him up until the Skin's have any money. Just a thought though.
Dick Edds
if we can get him for cheap I say yes, he had a very good year. He is a good blocker (better than Royall), and can catch
kreitmaster
And Rick Carlisle, immediately, calls a timeout when the Wizards start a run. I'd take Putzier, he certainly is tough. I watched him get layed out TWICE this year, two of the biggest hits all year. Has good hands, not sure about the blocking though.
TaylorPickSix
I'd get him. But only after we have some cap relief. Good replacement for Royal actually.

4Ever51
NFL network anylist just said the Redskins will probably be hit the hardest with this, and have to let go of probably 18 players. I think with that many cuts, maybe they can afford to get the concession stands employee at Fed Ex to play?

inmate running the asylum
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302110 Denver released Putzier yesterday. I agree. It would be nice if we could sign him to replace Royal. Putzier is capable of catching 75 passes a season and his 14.1 yard life time average is better than a lot of WR. He can definitely stretch the field. The guy caught 37 passes in each of the last two years, and was only a starter in 4 or 5 games. Thats impressive. I would like to see what Al Saunders can do with our offense, if the Skins can get him a good pass catching TE who can play on the line of scrimmage while leaving Cooley at H-back. Maybe the Skins can talk him into taking a minimum contract in 2006 by promising to reward him in 2007? Or am I dreaming? :paranoid:
