RiggoReincarnated
Do you all think that we can make Fed Ex a truly formidable place to play this year? In recent years, its seemed like there are nearly as many Eagle and Cowboy fans as Redskin fans at home games. Do you think this will change soon? I'd hope with our recent success, less tickets go to fans from other teams, and more stay within our own fan base!
SkinsHokieFan
As this season went along, the place started to rock more I think the low point was the Raiders and Chargers game, but the Cowboys and Giants game were great, even with plenty of blue in the crowd for both games If we as fans can create the atmosphere we did for the Cowboys and Giants game, no team can come in and expect an easy day. It just got too loud both those games

chiefhogskin48
Riggo, I don't think there was much question about our home field advantage during the 05 season. Your question may have been valid during a few of the preceding seasons, but certainly not in 05. And there is NEVER "nearly as many" Eagle and Cowboy fans at home games. At its worst, it may be 20%, but last year it was probably 10% or less. Next time you are at a game, take a small sampling of 100 people. Although opposing fans stand out, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find 10 opposing fans for every 100 occupied seats. And for non-divisional games, this is even more true (ie against the Raiders, Chargers, Seahawks, etc).

Completely agree - even from the first game against the Bears and all of those false start penalties, the home fans at fed ex were crazy this year. Of course there's always room to improve, but by and large, we had a definite home field advantage this past season. Riggo - great sentiment but a season too late. we're already an intimidating place to play.

Fair enough, I see the point you are trying to make. I was thining of it more from the perspective of the opposing team's players, not their fans. But hey, the fewer Cowgirl fans I have to deal with, the better!
The_U
The big problem is that tix aren't available except for agencies and ebay, etc. People want to make money so they put'em on ebay. Theres eagles/cowboys fans everywhere, looking for the opportunity to go to a game. Then once again, as I'm sitting at home not being able to afford a pair for $350-500, I watch the game and see LOTS of empty seats, that couldve/shouldve been filled by Skins fans, but unfortunately, a day after the game, the tix are still on ebay. Dead Money
Intimidation is a winning team. With that the other temas fans seem to dissapear. If you want a winning team support them no matter what. Then you will eventually get what you ask for.

Based on the away games and non-Redskins games I've been too, I'd say we are better or about average as far as opposing fan attendence. We do have a goodly number of non-fans and anti-fans, though. Yeah its called THEIR FANS MOSTLY ACT LIKE LOW-LIFE SCUMBAGS. Would you like to join them? Im sure they could use a few new fans these days. Loyal Fans will show and the Raiders have one of the most loyal in the league. If you didn't notice, so do we - I was at the Arizona game and we intimidated the locals just by being there. Why did we have such a good showing? Partly because we love our team, partly cause the Cardinals suck. If you feel another method of intimidation is necessary to make fedex a better place, whether it be physical or verbal assault or both, I know there are other websites geared towards that kinda stuff you can find and go spew at. :2cents:

PCS
Just because you don't see an opposing team's colors in the stands, doesn't mean those fans aren't there. Many a Redskin fan, from what I understand, goes to a game in Philly but doesn't sport the colors. We all have heard reasons why. I sat in front of 4 Redskins fans at the Seattle game, but didn't know it until one of them talked to me. They weren't wearing Redskins stuff. Or at least nothing obvious, though one of them did wear a sweathirt but her raincoat covered most of it, ( that was practical considering ). Point being is that being all kinds of intimidating and nasty like those in Philly and maybe a few other stadiums, doesn't necessarily keep the opposing teams fans away, just keeps some of them from showing who they root for. Like kevin said, a winning team is intimidation in its own right. Add to that, a winning team brings, you got it, more fans for the home team coming to games and that shrinks down the number of other teams fans as a result. Duh. I've been to at least one game for the past 4 years. The difference between 2002 and 2005 was obvious. Not nearly as many bad jerseys in the stands. Of course, I was at the Dallas game and that helped. Even then, there was an improvement over the year before. To me, anything else, ( such as those things done in by some fans in Philly), is infantile and shows no class. The players play by a certain rule of conduct, ( good sportsmanship). No reason why fans shouldn't either in my book.

I'm a Skins fan for life. Other teams fans don't fear showing their colors at Fed Ex yet. If we are as tough and mean as we like to think we are I think its about time we show it as a whole. Its war man...for 3 hours if they dare to enter our turf...hell with em. I've been to the Vet and seen Redskin fans getting harassed there just for cheering. In fact, I was shoved up against the wall and spit on and ridiculed...**** that though. It was the 2000 game and we beat them anyway. I had to take off my jersey though, cause I wanted to watch the game. Intimidation man.
PCS
And I had a smoke grenade, ( and large one at that), hit me in the leg in Seattle. Big deal. There's always going to be a few in the crowd. What do you want fans to do Riggo? behave in the same way they do in Philly? Throw stuff, do the kinds of things to them that others have done to us? kevin already answered and I agree. Winning for the, most part, is a great form of intimidation. The Dallas game I went to this past year for example, was as loud as it could be. The place was full of Redskins fans just raising the roof. Cowboys fans were there but there just didn't seem to be as many as before. And I can assure you they weren't loud and obnoxious. We were though. Well, at least loud anyway. Winning. That's the ticket.

I want it to be remembered as the year the broom came out for the second time. Damn Right. I've only been able to attend 1 home game. But I gotta say (to all those in attendance) Thank You for all the HEY, YOU SUCK chants during our final run to the playoffs. I know thats a thing started by Terp basketball fans at home games. But it brought a smile to my face every time I heard that chant ringing loud at Fed Ex. And I'd bet that opposing players we're a little suprised at the ferocity of our home crowd. Keep up the good work!!! :point2sky
bleach14
Whoever went to the last 2 games at fed ex vs. the cowgirls and the g-hoes, yall know it was nuts, the cowgirls game was sick from 15:00 in the 1st til 0:00 in the 4th and the giants game was almost as crazy, we had the stadium goin nuts, fed ex is the loudest stadium after those games and its only gettin louder as more people jump on the bandwagon..HAIL TO THE REDSKINS
