Renegade7
Yall ever seen "The Other Guys"? That's one of the few modern movies Ferrell has been in that I really like him in. I agree, his shtick was best on SNL. A lot comedians peak and ride it til the wheels fall off
Mr. Sinister
The key ingredient is coke (and likely mental illness). I feel like those are necessities for a truly amazing comedian
Warhead36
Speaking of comedians, my friends and I are watching Russell Peters at MGM tomorrow night. Hope he's better than when we saw him a couple years ago at DC Improv. Apparently he's got brand new material.

Adding drugs is a tragically logical next step for many of them. OT, random youtube never ceases to amaze me

Renegade7
Tired if these "gotta be swaggy for first day of school" commercials. Parents took us to thrift shop before each school year and then to Marshall's for stuff we couldnt get there like underwear or shoes that fit. I know its jus marketing, jus think it sends wrong message, it only matters if you let it matter

Kosher Ham
Folks do what they are comfortable with. I just will not wear any type of clothing that someone else wore. I'll give you the shirt off my back. I don't want it back though.

I can say every suit I ever wore I got from my dad and they either already fit or I paid to make it fit. Hes been selling men's dress clothes longer then I've been alive, so its quality I'd be crazy to turn down. I want to go picking stuff out one day with him, but I dont wear suits enough to justify the cost of the stuff he be selling, not yet anyways. Not judging, jus curious if I'm only one who's done that or you make exceptions. I know embarrasing little about dress clothes, I know 3 button suits are dead and how to tie a tie, but dont ask me who made them
Kosher Ham
I'm the oldest, never had hand me down clothes, shoes, anything. No exceptions. My brother is eight years younger than me, he's never had hand me down clothes either. We just gave our old stuff to goodwill. As far as suits, wear something that fits well and often times if you have the right jacket.. it doesn't even need to be a full suit.

The Evil Genius
Went down the Charlie Chaplin Wikipedia ride this afternoon. Had no idea he lived until the late 1970s or that the scandalous marriage to the 18yo budding actress Oona O'Neill (and daughter of famed playwright Eugene O'Neill) when Chaplin was 54 produced 8 kids and lasted until his death 20+ years later. That's an interesting dude right there. Btw..his last wife dated classmate Truman Capote while in high school. She was also good friends with Gloria Vanderbilt. PokerPacker
I got my best suit from a thrift store. If you know what to look for, you can find some real gems. My tailor had very positive things to say about the material and condition of the suit. Sure beats the ones I'd gotten brand new from Men's Wearhouse as a college student, and at practically no cost. Spent more on tailoring than on the suit itself.

skinsmarydu
Thrift store shopping is awesome. I've got 5 Aigner purses in great condition (that are at least $100 new)...didn't pay more than $10 for any of them. Just Lysol everything. 🤓

Back when I was making guitar pickups, I used to occasionally pop in to them to look for used sewing machines (for the motor and drive belt), and $2 used CDs, I also buy awful cheap artwork to throw out and use the frame. Never bought clothes.

My mom told me about how she used to have one of their albums and played it to death in college to point roommates wanted to kill her. Should've of seen the joy on her face when I said I finally listened to Psycho Killer and liked it. Its like she played it so much it made it into the DNA she gave, neither of us knew it was there, lolz 1 hour ago, skinsmarydu said: Thrift store shopping is awesome. I have at least 7 Redskins polo shirts that are like $40-$50 made by Rebook for fraction of that. Either they are from the old Redskins store in Norfolk that closed (Nike makes them now, so could just be put out because of that alone) or someone finally just gave up and took everything they had to donate it. Their loss, my gain.
