Johnny Punani2
Is there much of a difference between filtered tap water and bottled water? What about between different brands of bottled water? Can you honestly tell the difference? If you do drink bottled water what brand is it? I recently bought some Fuji Artesian Water and I noticed a difference from other brands but not a huge difference. Is it worth it (healthwise) to drink bottled water? http://www.fijiwater.com/

Xameil
First off, there are no regulations on bottled water, so you're pretty much at their mercy. Any testing that they have done usually is not 100% accurate since they have found loopholes to share data with each company, and use that for their reporting values. Secondly, the containers that hold the water slowly leach chemicals in the water. Not to dangerous levels mind you, but none the less it does. Filtered water, I can't really speak for that as much. Plain old tap water, has VERY strict regulations on it, so it should be fine. And before anyone starts trying to say "Show me the data", this all came from EPA regulators. So if you want to find it, goto EPAs or the Dept. of Helaths website. edit: oh yeah, just to show how lax they are in the bottled water industry, one of them had a massive recall up in my area due to Benzene contamination, not exactly something you get from the tap, or something you'd want to drink. PleaseBlitz
I wont drink tap water. Ever. I went to college in Morgantown WV and you couldnt see through a glass of tap water. Everything went through a Brita, even if i was planning on boiling it. The habit stuck. I go almost everywhere with a bottle of water. The back seat of my car is a waterbottle graveyard. As to the difference b/t filtered and bottled, i cant tell. I drink whatever brand is in the fridge at the office.

Mr. S
Deer Park, Aquafina, or Dasani. Though I do not mind Brita water either. At home I tend to just drink the cold water from the fridge.
Ignatius J.
I drink filtered water most of the time, but when I'm out I drink bottled water a lot. At restaurants though I usually just drink the tap water, ordering bottled water at a restaurant seems odd to me.
Kosher Ham
Actually DC, has some of the cleaner water in the country (for a major city). Cleaner than NY by a mile, also Chicago, Pittsburgh, Miami, KC, Boston, etc. That said I usually dont drink straight tap water (filtered) but I am not afraid to drink it, nor does it usually taste very different to me. dreamingwolf
Penn & Teller BS episode on bottle water was great, the best part was when they were in a restraunt and had a waiter pretend to show the patrons different bottles of water gave a speil like he was selling wine then they showed that they filled all the bottles up with the same garden hose. It was really funny watching the people critique the "different" waters

Johnny Punani2
My wife will only drink Deer Park. She swears by the stuff and said she can taste a difference from other bottle waters. Personally, I think she's on crack but whatever floats your boat...
Raub
If I buy water, it's usually mineral water...either Apollonaris or Gerolsteiner. Otherwise, I drink the well water from the house. Lots of limestone around here, so it's not too bad.

Stophovr6
I drink both. Either way tap water doesn't hurt you anymore than mineral water makes you stronger. It's just water.

scottie
I only drink bottled water in Mexico and in DC (because of the lead contamination issues). You may want to add San Diego to the list if you're ever here. We have the same contamination issues.
