Do you drink bottled water?

Is there much of a difference between filtered tap water and bottled water? What about between different brands of bottled water? Can you honestly tell the difference? If you do drink bottled water what brand is it?

I recently bought some Fuji Artesian Water and I noticed a difference from other brands but not a huge difference. Is it worth it (healthwise) to drink bottled water?

First off, there are no regulations on bottled water, so you're pretty much at their mercy. Any testing that they have done usually is not 100% accurate since they have found loopholes to share data with each company, and use that for their reporting values.

Secondly, the containers that hold the water slowly leach chemicals in the water. Not to dangerous levels mind you, but none the less it does.

Filtered water, I can't really speak for that as much. Plain old tap water, has VERY strict regulations on it, so it should be fine.

And before anyone starts trying to say "Show me the data", this all came from EPA regulators. So if you want to find it, goto EPAs or the Dept. of Helaths website.

edit: oh yeah, just to show how lax they are in the bottled water industry, one of them had a massive recall up in my area due to Benzene contamination, not exactly something you get from the tap, or something you'd want to drink.

I wont drink tap water. Ever. I went to college in Morgantown WV and you couldnt see through a glass of tap water. Everything went through a Brita, even if i was planning on boiling it. The habit stuck.

I go almost everywhere with a bottle of water. The back seat of my car is a waterbottle graveyard. As to the difference b/t filtered and bottled, i cant tell. I drink whatever brand is in the fridge at the office.

Ill buy one bottle a month and then fill it up with tap water until I lose it.

that's REALLY not good for you....you change bottles every 2 days if you don't throughly wash them out with hot water & soap....seriously.....

as for bottled water in general....I hate EVERYONE of them except Zepherhills & Aquafina ( same water source ) Deer park may also come from these guys.....

Actually DC, has some of the cleaner water in the country (for a major city).

Cleaner than NY by a mile, also Chicago, Pittsburgh, Miami, KC, Boston, etc.

That said I usually dont drink straight tap water (filtered) but I am not afraid to drink it, nor does it usually taste very different to me.

Penn & Teller BS episode on bottle water was great, the best part was when they were in a restraunt and had a waiter pretend to show the patrons different bottles of water gave a speil like he was selling wine then they showed that they filled all the bottles up with the same garden hose. It was really funny watching the people critique the "different" waters

Do any of you bottled water people get drinks with ice? :D

Feb. 20) - Jasmine Roberts never expected her award-winning middle school science project to get so much attention. But the project produced some disturbing results: 70 percent of the time, ice from fast food restaurants was dirtier than toilet water.

I pretty much only drink water. I do stick the bottles in the freezer for a little bit then crack them up and wallah you have ice in your bottle.
