TaylorPickSix
http://www.thehuddlereport.com/NickelPackage/dm2.9.shtml Here's our picks: Round 2: Roderique Wright, DT Texas Round 3: Jason Avant, WR Michigan Round 5: Josh Lay, CB Pittsburgh Round 6: Tim McGarigle, LB Northwestern Round 6: Julian Jenkins, DE Stanford Round 7: Cooper Wallace, TE Auburn Thoughts? My initial reaction to Wright was "Why a DT?", but then I thought about how dominating Wright is, and how we could have a sort-of Stroud-Henderson thing going on with Griffin-Wright. Don't get me wrong, I love Salavea'a and he is a stud. I am perfectly happy with him starting, but if Wright is there I would not be sad for us to pick him. I also like the Avant pick. EDIT: Saw the date was 2/9 so its not new, but I did not see a thread about it posted on here.
FootballGuy2677
Jason Avant could be pretty solid. Not really impressed with the rest. You should use pictures like i did last time lol. http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145157
fdarugar
I really cant see those first two picks, they will be taken before our picks.

chow184
that would be a really sweet draft. Wright+Griffin would give us the best type of pass rush there is, and thats right up the middle. Then throw big Joe S. in and we have a great trio of DT's Avant would also give us an impact WR from the later rounds, this is a very plausable draft. skinfan2k
i trust no draft that has vince young not going to the titans, he is currently being tutored by mcnair as we speak, and the titans would love to have him. hes the same prototype as mcnair, plus the jets would jump on young if they had the chance. dont trust this at all

jrockster21
I don't put much stock in any mock draft that doesn't have us addressing depth on the OL. :applause: :applause: :applause: I guarantee at least two picks will be devoted to the OL, possibly our number 2. I think we'll obtain the Jets 2nd somehow for Ramsey (either straight up or in a package deal) and use that on a receiver or DL, and then select a guard or center with our next pick. Then we'll take a project in the later rounds.

Um, no.
Oldskool
the fact that we take a DT when there are still safeties, CB's and Anthony Fassano on the board makes me go  Dont care much for this mock.

feeshta
We could use another good DT, but I don't see it being as high a need as some other positions, simply because of the availability of talent later in the draft. I would not mind having Avant though, seems like a decent fit for the future. We absolutely must get this McGarigle guy though. His name sounds like an action movie star from the Simpsons. How could he possibly not be a beast? LOL!
SkinsNorth
with the skins front office, I don't think anyone can say for sure what will happen on draft day. I would not be surprised if the skins did not draft a player from a so called need position. Watch them draft a safety or an OT with the first choice. TerpSkin
I'm amazed to see so many people on this board opposed to a DT in round 2. I know it has become cliche to say we need a pass-rushing DE, but we all saw what happened to this team last season when either Salave'a, Griffen, or heaven forbid both were hurt. We NEED another very good DT... not because Salave'a or Griffin need upgrading, but because we have such extreme drop-off when either one of our two starters are out. I'm not sure Wright would drop, but that would be awesome. I consider a third DT as one of our most important NEEDS on this team. A better DE would be nice... but with Daniels, Wynn, Evans, and Clemons, and guys like Boschetti, Jones, and Killings who actually play DE better than DT, I think DE is more of a luxury than DT. Right now, DT and WR and OL are our biggest needs without a doubt... and the proof is in the pudding. When even one of our DTs was banged up our defense went from outstanding to pedestrian. When you compounded an injured Patten with an injured Thrash and an injured Randy Thomas, our offense went from surprisingly good to something much more similar to our 2004 offense. Given that WR is probably best handled in FA or trade to acquire a vet, I see no better use of our 2nd rounder than DT. Luxuries would be one better DE and one better CB... but if neither of those things happen, I would not be upset as long as DT, WR, and OL were adequately addressed. Dirk Diggler
I could definitely see a DT somewhere on the first day. Salavea is a terrific NT but he offers nothing in the way of a pass rush. When Griffin is out of there, opposing QBs have been and will continue to be able to step up comfortably in the pocket. I could see someone like the kid from Tennessee (Mahelona) or one of the DTs from LSU being a nice pickup.

I trust no draft that has Vince Young Out of the top 4, especially after his Rose Bowl performance. The Jets, Titans, and Saints all have needs at QB. Houston is Vince Young's hometown. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Houston trade down a slot or two to pass on Bush so that they can get the hometown favorite. It would also allow them to get rid of Carr who may never become a QB due to the punishment he has recieved in a Texans uniform.
