MonkeySkin
Would you take the day off from work to go bust some of these fool's heads in? Or at least go protest right back at them? If these cartoon riots came here, I know I wouldn't stand for it, and it'd be time to fight fire with fire. :security::redpunch::finger::redpunch:

PleaseBlitz
HAHAHA, thats funny. MonkeySkin is a frickin' vigilante. I have actually gone into DC on several occasions to mess with the hippies protesting the World Bank. Angry hippies are so fun to screw with. iheartskins
I don't know if you saw the 60 Minutes piece on them last night, but a lot of the problems are due to one cleric in Denmark going to the MidEast and instigating--totally and completely unapologetically. Was the Denmark artist wrong for depicting the prophet with a bomb? Yes--that was really offensive--but was this cleric incredibly irresponsible in the manner in which he publicized the picture? Absolutely. Granted, all of the makings of something like this were in the works, but what that cleric did only has made things worse. As far as whether I'd bust some heads? Probably not, but the rioting does really piss me off for as much as shows that these people are angry it also reveals that they have no ownership over any property or country and that they all view themselves as Muslim before anything else. That's scary--especially when you think about how that devolve into some kind of world war.
Chopper Dave
Depends. If it's just protesting, whatever. They're allowed to. If they begin to riot, I won't like it, but unless it threatens my safety, or the safety of my family, friends, or property, I'm not going to out there and start trouble. Now, if anyone touches my car, heads will roll.

MonkeySkin
Yeah - cause nothing says violence is wrong like more violence. So if someone came up to you and just started punching you in the face, tried to give you the shocker, etc... you wouldn't do anything "cause nothing says violence is wrong like more violence"? Kilmer17
"Was the Denmark artist wrong for depicting the prophet with a bomb? Yes--that was really offensive." No, he wasnt wrong. He was exercising his freedom. Or at least that's the reason given for burning the American Flag, or getting govt money for "pieces of art" like Piss Christ. It's high time people stopped trying to explain and excuse the actions of this violent, hateful, barbaric group.

Air Force Cane
I didn't see you protesting at this rally in WASHINGTON where many in the crowd waved PLO flags, defamed Israel, castigated US "imperialism", called for an end to the Iraq liberation. why would them demonstrating for "mohammed cartoons" be any different?! these things have been going on for more than a decade now... It's high time people stopped trying to explain and excuse the actions of this violent, hateful, barbaric group. I didn't say he didn't have the freedom--no one will argue that he wasn't allowed to do it. It was just bad judgment and that's pretty clear given how it's ended up igniting this already angry mob. And if you'd actually read my post instead of picking out a piece that served your purpose, you would have read how I actually blamed the explosion on the cleric who played into the hands of a mass of people just waiting to lash out. But again, that wasn't even the main point of what I had to say which was, since apparently you missed it, that it's scary how much of the Muslim world doesn't have any sense of ownership over property or sense of citizenship such that destroying public or private property doesn't even seem like a problem. That's scary and incredibly problematic. How am I explaining and excusing anyone's behavior, btw? I'm so ****ing tired of people taking what others say out of context and manipulating it to their own purpose, especially when what I said initially was the exact opposite of the limited piece you quoted. I'd really appreciate if you'd try to read my entire post before responding next time. Thanks.

Looking at your age and internal fire you remind me of the father of the little guy in the Wanderers who at the football game broke off a piece of the wooden bleacher and went all Walking Tall on the Duckie Boys.  Thanks for that reminder....great movie scene btw. :applause:

Sarge
First, if it turned violent, I would hope that the INS would swoop in and determine the citizenry of everyone there. anyone not a citizen gets a plane ride to the nearest arab ****hole......tonight. Everyone else goes to jail. But of course, that'll never happen. Might offeeeeend someone ya know Might hurt someone's feeeeelings ANd of course you'd have to deal with the ACLU taking you to court
Kilmer17
iheart, you specifically pointed out the actions of one person and used that as an explanation for the actions of the masses. Precisely what I am tired of seeing and hearing. Let's call a spade a spade. But trying to say the cartoonists bears ANY responsibility, whether directly or indirectly, is crazy. It wasnt wrong, it wasnt bad. It was a freaking cartoon.

zoony
I, that it's scary how much of the Muslim world doesn't have any sense of ownership over property or sense of citizenship . To address the thrust of your point from those two posts... which I think the above quoted text is... is a good one. Muslim first, American, French, Iraqi, etc. second. Just to play DA, though Iheart, I think the same has been said about the Jewish people.
RedskinDan0557
In this country we (so far) still have the freedom of speech, so one could make a cartoon depicting Muhammed (sp?) or Jesus holding a bomb and that would be their right, and one could also peacably (sp?) protest either actions. This whole situation shows a lack of maturity on all parties involved.
