we_want_56
Ar we screwed if there's no CBA? And what are the chances of the deal getting done? Can someone please help me to understand Because right now it sounds like that right when we had something promising and a team that could contend for SB XLI the CBA could send us back to the cellar. Hooper
The bottom line is this -- We can still beat the Cowboys with only Portis, Moss, Brunell, and Jansen. Four guys, playing both ways.

TLusby
We will be hurting if there is not a CBA extension; although, I highly doubt that this will happen. There are much worse things that can plague the owners by not having a CBA in place. It's a ticking bomb and they know it. We will see an extension for one year at least while they continue to negotiate. An extension would allow contracts to be renegotiated over seven years instead of four (which will happen in 2006 going into an uncapped year in 2007). Agents, players, draftees, FA, are all screwed and it will revert back to the owners with severe consequences on their $29B of T.V. revenues. If a deal can't be made an one year extension will allow us to prorate bonus money from cuts after June 1st into 2007's dead cap space. This will be done as a minimum as the NFL should never allow teams to dimantle and become uncompetitive. They learned their lesson from the strike year of which we won the SB. bubba9497
about 2/3 rds of NFL teams may have problems it's not as big a deal as some are trying to portray
chaz13
Actually if it is only extended by 1 year we would be able to prorate bonuses over 5 years just like last year. It was 6 yrs. in 2004 and 7 in 2003. The CBA is THE most important thing for the Redskins this offseason and for the NFL in general.
