da#1skinsfan
If he overpursues at OLB, he will dangerously overpursue at DE. I wouldnt mind seeing him in there on a couple plays, ESPECIALLY as a decoy to a passrush since thats what everyone knows he will be doing, but he should stick at LB. TaylorGreedy
With his big frame he could easily put on thirty pounds. At this position he wouldn't be able to free lance either. When he came into the league there was talk that this would be the position that would suit him best.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
This works once in a while. But they tried this during Marvin's tenure and it really did not work consistently. I remember an Eagles' game where he was lined up against Runyan. If he didn't get a quick jump, Runyan basically just pushed Lavar into his gut and hid him away from the rest of the world. redman
No. He plays better in space.
EnFoRcEr_uPu
']I first read this as "Would anybody like to see Lavar die" haha, ditto. As far as him being a DE, I'm not so sure. I mean, granted he would be excellent at the position, but I still think he is better used as a LB where he can really use his athleticism on the field. RIDETHEWALRUS
Lavar had a good year under Lewis when he was used some at DE. I wouldn't want him playing there though because he is too undersized at the position to hold up against the run. I think he would excell best in the 3-4, ala Shawn Merriman (forget Joey Porter). The 3-4 would also give us some more opportunities to give Chris Clemons some PT, and if McCune is coming along some reps for him too. BTW...McCune is a guy that I think could throw on some weight and make that transition. In college he had a knack for shedding blockers and he is strong as a horse. LA's primary duty was still at LB, though. With GW's schemes LA has played DT at times, but he was still primarily a WLB. Given some of the plays I saw him make last year and the role that DE's seem to play in GW's defense, I think it'd be a waste to play him there. If you think we have better options (I don't), figure out how to cut or trade him.
Ant15fromNJ
Lavar shouldnt play DE he is a LB and thats it the only way he should swictch would be at the end of his career holding on for a cupple more years.

Laxpunk2006
I'd like to see him play end in similar situations that Chris Clemons comes in on. However if Williams feels Lavar needs to work more on his OLB skills then I'd rather see him do that so he can be on the field more. Someone mentioned him lined up at DE on fake passrushes. I think that could work pretty well for zone blitz's to confuse the pass protection.
Brianbien83
I'd like to see him play Full-Time at Outside Linebacker but occassionally go into Defensive End againts the Smaller Lineman. Or on the strong side against a tight end.
twenty-eight
I just want to see him in a skins jersey. Do you guys think that the Ray Lewis situation will have any impact on what happens with Lavar? I mean if LaVar is getting paid more than Lewis, then we got a problem. indaslums
I'd like to see him play Full-Time at Outside Linebacker but occassionally go into Defensive End againts the Smaller Lineman. this is actually smart and i agree
HoyaSkins28
Before he plays DE, i just want to keep him. I like him better at OLB, but he could be like Joey Porter and play DE occasionally. I agree that he needs to free-lance. He needs to be a disruptive force on the field like he used to be. If we play him full time he'll start to do what he used to. I think Gregg Williams has a plan for him, but for now, he should stay at OLB.
s0crates
He plays pretty well in a 3-point stance, rushing the passer. However, I don't think he would be much of a run-stuffer, which is essential to GW.
Redsk58417
No Way!!!....You gotta ask yourselves the following: 1. Is Lavars' knee is sound enough to carry the extra weight needed for a switch to DE? 2. Will Lavar lose speed with the extra lbs.? 3. Does Lavar have the technical moves to compensate the probable speed loss? Too many ? marks for me. I'll pass! OLB.
21STaylor
That would be sick, i put him at de in madden and he dominated, hes so quick and athletic, i think he would do really well there because of those reasons, and we already have good lbs and can use a de, definately should put him there! tvan
He's too light and doesn't have any pass rush moves.
No_Pressure
Arrington doesnt look to me like he has the lower body strength to play DE, not to say he isnt strong but he is fast as hell and has a lot of upper body strength, he wouldnt be able to stand his ground at DE, and would be a bad run stopper once he let a tackle get inside him, or gets cracked by a pulling guard.
