mamiskin212689
This is purely speculation, but do you think LaVar could be used as a DE? Part of me thinks that he could generate consistant pressure with his quickness and agility. Just want to know what everyone thinks. :logo:

PleaseBlitz
He's an OLB. He needs to be playing OLB.
JPM285181
I thought this a while back. I dont think that every down at DE would work but I believe if Lavar was in there as part of different packages that he would cause all sorts of matchup problems. Slateman
No, he did it the year that Marvin Lewis was here. He had 11 sacks, but he grew very frustrated when used as a down lineman. He just doesn't have the technique to do it. Most of his sacks came on blitzs that year anyway. LaVar is utlized best as a bit of a freelancer. Have him blitz one down, then fake another blitz. Eventually, the QB spends too much time worrying about LaVar
mwahaha91
I think Chris Clemons would be a better fit. He has proven himself as a adequate pass rusher and he's 278 lbs! What a big man.

FootballGuy2677
I'd like to see him play Full-Time at Outside Linebacker but occassionally go into Defensive End againts the Smaller Lineman.
bmw2301
I can see him playing there in different packages, but I don't see him there every down.

Capt Rich Fla
No, he has a tough time getting through blockers.
bricucci
No, he gets man handled when he lines up @ Defensive End. He trys to bullrush guys 75 lbs heavier than him. The year he had 11 sacks, he got most of them from the lb position. I personally think he would be better suited in a 3-4 (Joey Porter type position) but what do I know. atloldskin
LaVar is not a DE. He is working on becoming an OLB. He is a good blitzer and generally that is where he gets his sacks/hurries.

TaylorGreedy
When he first came into the league a lot of people thought that is where he would be most dangerous. Think about it... He wouldn't be able to free lance and with his frame he could put on 30 more pounds without a problem.

J-Rad
I'd rather see him drop some weight and get that explosiveness back which used to make him a playmaking, dominating OLB.
