Riggo-toni
One of these days I'm going to get decent photography equipment..... I was originally going to make this guitar purple to match the rose inlay, but then the guy I was building it for gave me a set of red tortoise Rio Grande pickups he wanted put in, sooooo.... I decided it would look better to have the finish match the pickups. The top is bookmatched lacewood, finished in a style that I need to get off my butt and trademark before somebody beats me to it. I call it a snakeburst finish. Thru body neck, string thru construction instead of the traditional stop tailpiece. 25" scale length ebony fretboard. The inlay is a mixture of recon stone, abalone, and crushed turquoise. The pickups are a Rio Texas Barbecue set (insert your stupid gas or charcoal joke here...). Taylor 36
How often do you design/make guitars? How much do you usually charge?
Riggo-toni
I'm up to about one a month. I've bought smoe new machinery and tools, so that will hopefully pick up a bit. Cost varies wildly depending on how fancy people want to get, but as a general guideline it's usually parts plus $500. For bolt-on necks I often charge less because they're much less labor intensive.
