i hope there are no letdowns, but yeh, they always hype up the episodes more and it does turn into a letdown. I think though we are at the point where something major is going to happen, sorta like season 1 where a few episodes after Ethan was killed, the next major calamity came.

Lost pissed me off tonight. This was like an episode of 24. It was all about ratcheting a lot of tension, and just when you're about to figure something out, it all falls apart, and makes everything you just watched totally worthless. I really hope that Lost isn't going in that direction, because that why I eventually started hating 24.

And that's the second time they've done this pretend like they're doing something, but don't actually do it. The first time it didn't feel as bad or obvious. Because they didn't just build up faux tension. They had the confrontation with the "others." It just didn't really lead anywhere.

that episode pissed me off as well. It showed some of Sayeed's past, which was alright. I was really hoping something would happen with the hatch timer. I bet they will find those symbols again somewhere else, maybe in next weeks episode.

As much as we all would have liked to have seen the definitive answer to what would happen when it went to zero, we should have known that we would only get a teaser. It sounded like something was powering up, possibly a reactor or something. I thought the episode was great personally. The story was very focused on the Sayid's flashbacks and the torturing of the 'other'. I was pretty into it. Conversely, the Sawyer storyline was pretty weak and pointless.

The writers love to give us just enough to keep us freaking out about what the answer really is. The symbols on the ticker and the sounds were enough. If it really is a doomsday machine, would they really let this thing reach zero? Obviously not, so they throw us a bone to keep us guessing.

Surprising...I thought this was about the best episode of the season, except for the recounting of the Tailies first 45 days.

Anyone expecting rapid plot developments in this show is looking for fool's gold. The writers know where they are going, and they are in no hurry to get there.

Return of Rousseau...timer hits zero...brutal cathartic violence...great scenes with Sayid...upping the Jack/Locke tension...this epi had plenty to offer, IMO.

I thought they overdid the acting with Jack and Locke. Locke just seemed utterly emotionless even when he was worried about the timer and Jack looked completely insane near the end there. Also I think Sayid totally lost it there and I thought he might kill the prisoner, but somehow the guy didn't look that hurt (did he heal fast?).

I thought it was pretty good besides that, though the Swayer Hurly story seemed unncessary and a bit pointless (it was kind of funny, until the end)

You see, I didn't say I hated the episode. I said it pissed me off. I thought that overall it was a very good episode, maybe amongst the best of this season. However, I don't really think they concluded it well. If they had it would certainly be the best. They concluded it with no answer about the "other" guy and a few confusing hyroglyphics.

It answered the question that fans have been asking about Hurley, How does he stay so fat?

I loved the episode, one of the best this year so far. I thought the Sayid back story was awesome. I wonder if we've seen the last of the CIA guy. He played Sayid to get what he wanted when he could have gotten the info himself.

He is also the Anti-christ from 'Carnivale'.

was that kate in the picture the army guy had when they dropped sayid off, or maybe his wife? my wife said it really looked like kate!

Yea, it was Kate. Her "real" dad who was the army recruiter, but then it turned out Kate killed the real dad with the house explosion.

I don't know. Was that the same actor that was in Kate's flashback when she visited the recruiting office? Personally, i don't think it was as i think i would have recognized him as Brother Justin.
