Sick of the Dolphin Hype

Is anyone else sick of all the Dolphin hype??? They're the in-vogue sleeper pick for the superbowl, 7 slots ahead of the skins in that CBS power ranking. Nick Saban all of a sudden is a top 3 NFL head coach? It's premature and I hate when this happens, just like the Lions last year. I know it wouldn't happen and I'm not sold on the Dolphins next year either.

Thank you, yes I am and I live here. The only thing is there are no Dolphin fans in south Fla. Sure the games might have people at them, but most Miami games are blocked out down here so you have to go to the game. Even at that, you can still walk up to the window and buy yourself a ticket. I don't know why the media is sukling the dolphin teet so much. If Ricky Williams goes, so do their chances. I don't approve of what he did, but that doesn't change the fact that GOD made that man a FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Everyone makes a big deal about their 6 game win streak.

Win @ Oakland. :jerk:

Win -vs- Buffallo. By one point. :jerk:

Win @ San Diego. By two points. Blind pig finds the acorn. :jerk:

Win -vs- NY Jets. By 4 points. Against a 4-12 team. :jerk:

Win -vs- TN. Who didn't beat TN this year? :jerk:

Win -vs- NE. By two points, and NE was resting starters. :jerk:

They could very easily have gone 2-4 over this stretch, and 0-6 if they'd played a quality opponent or 2. :2cents:

reminds me of the Cardinal & Raider hype last off season

Me too. But at least a good part of the Cardinals' hype was the fact that they looked pretty impressive last preseason. Didn't they win all their games? At any rate, they didn't look like the same old crappy Cardinals. Then the regular season started and they looked like... the same old crappy Cardinals.

The Raiders' hype wasn't as bad... it seemed like for every knucklehead that was screaming about how Randy Moss would turn the Raiders into contenders, there were analysts pointing out that they still wouldn't finish above .500 because their defense stinks.

But back to the Dolphins, I think Saban did a pretty good job with what I thought was a pretty dog-ass team coming into the season. To finish at 8-8 in the AFC is pretty impressive.

While I think all the talk about the Super Bowl is certainly premature, remember this -- a team no one was looking at finished strong, as Miami did this past season, at 8-8. The next year, they won the Super Bowl. It was the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

A win is a win, regardless if it was 1 point or 100 points. Remember our games

Bears - win by 2

Cowboys - win by 1

Seahawks - win by 3

Should they not count just because we won by so little?

Look at those 3 teams records and look at the teams the Phins beat.

Bears 11-5 Playoff team

Cowboys 9-7 would have been in Playoffs in not for us

Seahawks 13-3 made Super Bowl

Oakland 4-12

Buffalo 5-11

San Diego 9-7 Only quality win but still not a Playoff team

NY Jets 4-12

Tennessee 4-12

New England 10-6 would have been a quality W in NE wasn't resting starters.

The only win that is impressive is that San Diego win because the Chargers should have been playing hard to make the Playoffs

Also since when is Nick Saban, Mularkey and Capers become a better staff than Gibbs, Williams, Saunders :whoknows:
