lunarluau
I'm not a big fan of Larry Michael or how the changing of the guard went down so I figured I'd throw this out to see what everyone else is thinking. Also breaks up the monotony of the Seattle vs Washington stats etc. that we've beaten like a dead horse for the past week. So, who do you prefer? Larry Michael or Frank Herzog? ChiefPowhatan17
Herzog was our play by play guy for years, so I would have to say Sonny, Sam and Frank.:logo::logo::logo:
Dan T.
Herzog, in a heartbeat.

altair4
I don't thing LM was a move in the direction fo quality. Even on Redslins.com you can see how unpolished he is, as he constantly darts his eyes at the camera when interviewing people. It is very distracting and unprofessional. Unless he is trying to read a teleprompter, in which case they should move it. As for the radio, Herzog was smoother and more entertaining to listen to. Even if he did get stuff wrong. I hear TV announcers get stuff wrong . One called Cedric Killing "Chris" during the Tampa game....NBD.
Dan T.
Michaels is a competent as a play-by-play guy. Herzog was an excellent play-by-play man, and the chemistry Herzog had in the booth with Sonny and Sam brought out their strengths. I miss "Touchdown, Washington Redskins." ttr77
Sorry, this shouldn't even be close. Herzog was, and will always be, miles ahead of Michael. Besides, the radio announcer should not be an employee of the team he announces for. How can he be truly honest in his opinions without fearing the wrath of the person that signs his paycheck? kom526
I still say Sonny, Sam and Frank. My dad got me to turn the TV down about 15-20 years ago for the 1 st time and was hooked ever since. Larry does an admirable job, I guess it is something that has to grow on you. ANYthing is better than those donkeys Albert (Marv's lil bro) and Bill Maas. Sonny and Sam are employeed by Redskins radio as well WJFK just has the contract to broadcast the games. The big stink about it was Michaels was in a mangement position with Clear Channel(WJFK) and in bed with Snyder at the same time, that explains how Michaels quit Clear Channel to work for Dan Snyder, sometime during the past off season, and is still the play by play guy. Also he knew Snyder was trying to buy up Mega radio stations, which will be the new home of the Redskins, and thus will not create a conflict of interest. :dallasuck :gaintsuck :eaglesuck
RedskinsFanFromPhiladelph
Easy choice, of course its Herzog... instead we have the boring monotone voice of Michael. I too miss "Touchdown Washington Redskins!"
Redskins4ever
Frank Herzog, of course. He's the real and true voice of the Washington Redskins.

Hogie
Not even Larry Michael would vote for Larry Michael. It's a disgrace that Herzog was booted.
SkinsGuy
Micheals does a very competent job as the play-by-play guy. But I miss that "TOUCHDOWN! Washington Redskins!" from Herzog. There was an enthusiasm for the Redskins and the sport from Frank that you just don't seem to get fro Larry.
BrunellSuperbowl
Larry Micheals is a joke on redskins.com. He seems like he is trying to be make jokes and be sarcastic with the players, but he comes off as phony, boring and not making sence I have no idea how he got the job. He is not talented
BrunellSuperbowl
the whole WJFK thing is a joke . The junkies hate the redskins. They wereall wearing Eli Maning jerseys before one pre game. That lurch or whatever said in the preason who cares the redskins will be 3-7 why are people listning to this show. HOW CAN A PRE GAME SHOW SAY THIS? kingfish50
With out a doubt, Frank Herzog. It's a damn shame the way he got booted because of that kissass Larry michaels.
FlaSk1nsfan
Frank all the way!!!! What I don’t get is how EVERYONE in DC seems to say they like Frank better and even drafted a petition and it did nothing. I guess in this case the customer is wrong. Pisses me off big time. I miss Frank. :2cents:
laxman27
Herzog by far, and my favorite Herzog quote would have to be durring the 1991 season when the Skins were playing the Oliers at RFK (I was there) and the Oliers missed a field goal in overtime. The Skins were undefeated and as the kick sailed wide Herzog said, "God Has the Redskins in a pool". Classic!
Tokeydog
With out a doubt it is Frank. I grew up watching the games on tv muted with Sony, Sam, and Frank. I tried doing the same with Larry and just couldn't handle it. I will still do it if we have a god awful commentatory like Maas on Fox.
laxman27
Larry isn't all bad though! Better than Madden!
laxman27
We still mute the commentators at my house to listen to our guys on WJFK! Larry isnt Herzog, but with Sunny and Sam the game is broadcasted much better than any of the TV guys.
