skinsfan51
Has anyone else noticed that we are vunerable to the play action pass? We bring a very aggressive defense to every game, but that style of play opens up other things. Chris Simms seemed to have success with PA againt us. So have others throughout the season. The 'Hawks are too good to ignore this weapon. I hope we execute properly on D or we're in trouble, and could give up the big play in a critical situation. Any thoughts? warrentonboy
Well, the play action play on fourth and one with Alstott in the back field, didn't fool anyone on the Skins defense! I do think that we have been as of lately, vulnerable in the middle of the field. Hopefully a healthy secondary this week fixes that!

If you remember correctly though after ST was rejected from the game that is when they had more success throwing down the middle of the field. Mostly up to that point they were dinking and dunking . Yes and you also have to consider the strategy last week was pretty much to shut down Galloway and Williams and make Simms nickel and dime us. The difficulty this week, is that Seattle has a better QB and many more weapons.

skinstzar
All teams are vulnerable to the play action pass. It is goal of every team in every game to get that split second advantage. Seattle is much more vulnerable because we have faster recievers, better H-back\Tight end, better pass catching and blocking backs. If we setup the short play action to Cooley then Seattle is done. They will be forced to commit a safety and linebacker to stopping it and then we can have our way with Moss.

Simms had "success" with it because Gregg Williams intentionally left the middle of the field open for him. He said so after the game. The intention was to let them dink and dunk, keep them in the middle, stave off the big play, then pounce on them.
