wow 2 points about that paper

First they suck for sports coverage. There was hardly anything on the match-up this weekend. I often rip the post for their crap coverage, but a throwback article about the "all-seahawk team" shouldn't be the cover article during the playoffs.

Second, there really are very few references to "Redskins" they call us Washington on virtually every occassion. Is it really that hippy liberal that using "Redskin" offends?

Please tell me this is just a retarded joke, and I'm not sober enough to realize it.

Nope, not a joke...I wish it was. This city is so full of liberal retards it makes you want to scream sometimes. Other than that, it's a great place to live

The "hippy Liberals" I think are actually more in Berkeley, CA. We have the ultra retarded self righteous ones here in Seattle.

I could never live with that much rain. Man, I don't know how you do it.

This is not a shot at your city. I've heard it's really nice. But isn't Seattle the suicide capital of the U.S.? Many will say I'm an idiot, but I think the weather plays a factor, to be honest. I hate cloudy days, and I have a friend who's overall mentality can and sometimes is dictated by the weather. I'm not saying he's got his stuff together, but in a city, you have a large population, increasing the percentage of mentally unstable people.

Aha. We actually have a fair share of those here in D.C. unfortunately. Stupid f--king interest groups and idealistic lobbyists. They were even successful in changing the name of the Bullets to Wizards (which is really gay). But D.C. is too much of a football town to let them change our Redskins.

I never thought of Seattle as a football town. Am I wrong in this belief?

Yeah, I liked the Bullets much better too. Wizards? C'mon, they could have done better than THAT!

And yes, Seattle is a HUGE football town, more than any other sport hands down. Granted, it's not Green Bay, but what else is there in Wisconsin? :silly:

...to beat a team called the "Redskins"? The ultra-liberal Sealle media morons seem to think so. The Seattle Times won't even publish the name "Redskins" in the paper. What a joke.

Cheers!!

Actualy thats just unbelievable how people thinks a team named the Redskins or Chiefs is disrespectful to the indians, I would think it would be an honer to them.

Yeah, it does rain a lot (a lot of days, not necessarily a lot of rain, if that makes sense). But the Summers are awesome, everything is green, and you can't beat the mountians, lakes, oceans, etc. I've lived here my whole life and haven't killed myself yet!

actually the Bullets werent changed by an activist group, the owner who is Jewish changed it after the assassination of Rabin in Israel cause the assassin used a bullet to kill him. Atleast I think thats the Prime Minister that got killed.

I would love to be in Seattle for the summers. Actually I don't much mind the rain. Actually looking for graduate schools up in the Northwest.

Well I can understand it, after all, the team name Redskins is used in such a derogatory way. After all more fans attend games and cheer for them than any other team, and our fight song is "Hail to the redskins". We want our Redskins to play well, win, never give up, and fight hard, quite dispicable of us actually.

Oh wait, that only makes sense if you are a bunch of freakin retards. Which they are.

Theres quite a bit of Native Americans here in New Mexico, many of them obviously Redskin fans. I mean if they are accepting the name usage, what is the problem? Honestly? Even if it is supposedly a discriminative term, as it becomes used more and more the meaning changes and any negative thoughts that may have been linked to the word vanish. This is a non issue in my mind. Give me a Native American complaining about it and maybe Ill change my tune.

You would probably love it here, average temps between July and Sept are around 75-80. I have travelled the US quite a bit, and I don't think there is a prettier place than Seattle on a Sunny day with Mt. Rainier in the background.

I seem to recall the issue being that some people considered the name "Bullets" inappropriate for a city with a high rate of shootings...never heard the angle you're talking about.

Honestly, I hear its a beautiful place with a lot of fine seafood and coffee. As far as people having a problem with team names, they should be honered to have a team name after them.

Well surprisingly its not really many native americans that are offended, but liberal feminists that want to tell you what is right and wrong and what you should do,now im not into politics and not saying that it is only liberals with bad haircuts and glasses, but it seems to be mostly headline seekers with too much time looking for a "cause"

Ding ding ding ding!! We have a winner. In addition to feminist, tree huggers! They have polled so many groups and each time the super leftist don't get the results they like. I am a democrat and think its absurd. They need to go save a tree instead of trying to speak for people who don't wish to be spoken for.
