Stratosphere
I think our first priority would be, as many here have mentioned, to re-sign Ladell. But if he leaves, then we should begin to search for a strong #2 HB.
50GutCheck
We have some pressing needs however RB is not one of them...
smittykidindy
I don't think even if he is cleared medically we should re-sign him. I love Davis and was upset when we lost him but when he was here was was never a lock in short yardage situations, he takes small steps and would get taken down often and easily. scuppajones
If he wants to come in for a tryout and take the vet minimum, I won't mind.
kappaluvacee
Our backfield is too crowded. Davis should only be signed if he is doing a one-day contract to retire a Redskins.
RedskinsOP
Old and busted, slash we have no extra cap room.
stwasm
ABSOLUTELY NOT! His knees are about as stable as the San Adreas Fault at this point. I'm a big Stephen Davis fan, but his best days are behind him.
santanamoss89
No way. We already have Portis, Betts and Rock.
fpickering
I appreciate all of your opinions and I am not sure if it is worthwhile to bring SD back but I am not advocating totally totally dismissing it either.
skinfan133
I asked this question to some friends when I heard people in Charlotte say he had played his last game in Carolina. IF he is healthy and clears a Physical, then what a great pickup for 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 situations like Gerald Riggs use to do. I'm sure his pay wouldn't be as much for just a part time role in a Bigtime team, The All-Time Rushing Leader of the RedskinsWhat do you other Skins Fans think of having a BIG Back in the Offense again next year? :point2sky umm, buddy we have PORTIS, BETTS, AND CARTWRIGHT, why do we need another? i like davis, don't get me wrong, but i like our three backs the way they are. and if worst comes to worst, we have NEMO!!!!! nemo is so cool! but anyway im sorry but i don't think we need to be spending precious cap space on ANOTHER back, how about a position we really need to fill? jauburn
ANY money spent should go toward defensive backs, wide receivers, linemen on both sides. WE HAVE ENOUGH RUNNING BACKS. GOOD ONES, TOO.

barry wilburn
Good idea, but we need all the cap room we can get to pay Carson Palmer when we trade Lavar for him... I hear Skip Hicks is available though.

Peregrine
Heck no, why would we want SD? What hole in our running game could he possibly fill? Do people even think before they post things like this?
FranklinNoble
While we're at it, let's pick up Michael Westbrook... and then we can have a steel-cage death match during halftime in the season opener.

Commander PK
Nope. Why would we go after Davis? We have top tier back in Portis, followed by rising stars Betts and Cartwright, and then Nemo. This is a team that's looking forward, not backward. Stephen was a great back for us in his prime, but there's no reason to look his way in 2006.
