tr1
Windows open for Walls Bombers star trying luck in NFL By KIRK PENTON -- Winnipeg Sun The CFL's rookie of the year is attracting plenty of interest south of the border. Gavin Walls, a defensive end who led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with 12 sacks in 2005, worked out for the NFL's New York Jets last Thursday and is scheduled to do the same with the playoff-bound Jacksonville Jaguars later this week. Walls, 25, said the Washington Redskins are also interested, but he's keeping his cool. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/Winnipeg/2006/01/03/1377058-sun.html
smashmowf
230 lbs.......a little light in the bean, huh?....What the heck Shawn Barber was a light weight and he did well for us.
JJ Skins
Shawn Barber was a LB...this guy's a DE. You don't HAVE to be huge to be dominate at that position, though. Look at Dwight Freeney (and soon to be Dwight Freeney Jr., aka Darryl Tapp)...
Thinking Skins
We can bulk him up. Guys come in light from college all the time. The question is does he have the technique to be a good pass rusher and the speed to get off the end. If so then we can add 30 pounds to him and get him out there. themurf
It doesn't matter whether you have to be huge or not, 230 lb. is too small to play DE in the NFL. The guy would have to bulk up or play LB.

Thinking Skins
That figure's got to be wrong. hes bigger than 230.
jivelikenice
230 lbs isn't too small for Robert Mathis who for a while was leading the NFl in sacks this year. No reason this guy can't develop into a pass rushing specialist.
pico926
Way too small to play DE. He needs to put on at least 25-30 pounds to be able to hold his own, particularly against the run. CFL << NFL so his stats do not translate to NFL stats
Metalhead
so teams in the nfl can sign guys in the postseason? I know there's the practice squad and reserves. What's the rules on signing remaining players after the regular season is over? Because if we got a guy like that, he could easily make an impact, even if it is a small one. laurent
Maybe scouts are projecting him at LB.
dawgjk9
i hope we get him, we need to get all the pass rush we can get...he should be cheap so hopefully we can pickhim up. itd be nice to take a chance like this
G-Prime
230 lbs.......a little light in the bean, huh?....What the heck Shawn Barber was a light weight and he did well for us. Barber was a Linebacker, not a defensive end.
G-Prime
That dude is way to boney to be a DE.
bulldog
he's a 25 year old project. 230 pounds? Geez, when I read the tag line I hoped he was 275  in other words he is Chris Clemons except 10 pounds lighter and without the NFL experience
bobzmuda
He has about as much chance to play DE as Richard Simmons. He's being worked as a rush LB ala Chris Clemons.
misery
I'm also a blue bombers fan, and this guy is good. I think he could make it. Don't forget before we got Sellers he was a great FB/ Running Back with the Blue Bombers also.
