Buddha
With 7 turnovers, the Bucs practically gift-wrapped the game for the Skins. How can any team that hands the ball over 7 times expect to be competitive, much less come back and win the game? These things just don't happen in today's NFL. Or do they??? Tommy-the-Greek
They were FORCED to's. WE earned them. When you knock the ball loose or create a severe pass rush and the qb throws a pick you earn those TO's. The one fumble where the guy tripped over his own feet is different. That was a giveme. This game was the opposite of the steeler game. But even in the Steeler game you have to give this team alot of credit. They didn't put the tails between there legs and quit. They fought back and won. This shows the true heart of this team. We are fighters and won't go down without a fight. When was the last time you heard of a team having 6 TO"S and still winning the game? ALL Hail to the Redskins. NFL beware we are back baby.
Mad Mike
No Buddha they don't, usualy. All I can say is what a strange D we've seen. One minute teams are running (or screening) up and down the field on us, the next we're burning them for a turnover or a big sack. A big play D that can't yet shut anyone down consistantly. Odd. I chalk it up to adjusting to the new system. Missed asignments and such. But when those guys all get on the same page, look out. This D is gonna be a monster. I hate to sound like a cheerleading homer but I think we have the scariest team in the NFL. When is the last time you saw ANY team with a D this good that can put up so many points on O? In our worst games we should still be tough. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We could shock the world and win it all this year. I have to step away from the computer now. I'm sportin' wood just thinking about our prospects.
Sarge
I'm sure we'll hear from certain fans that visit this boad once in awhile how it really is JUST preseason and that TB really wasn't taking the game seriously, that they were just giving us a false sense of security, setting us up for if we meet later in the season. Whatever.
Murilo Bustamante
The two INTs on Brad were definitely deserved, in that it took athleticism to break up the pass (Smoot and Bailey) and athleticism to pick it off (Lavar and Bailey). But, both were also due to BJ forcing it. He's a good QB but prone to doing that.
codeorama
Here is why "running up the score" is the way to go. If SS gets out infront and doesn't let up, it puts the opposing team into a pass only offense which makes it much easier for our defense, then turnovers will occur. We stopped their run and got a lead on them and they were trying to come back and we were teeing off on them knowing the pass was coming.
BlitzFiftySix
Speaking of sporting wood.... I just want to note that each of us should really treasure the opportunity we are having to watch Lavar Arrington in action. I could never appreciate the true talents Lawrence Taylor because he played for the bad guys, but with Lavar here in DC - we have something special. He made about 5-6 plays last night that had some affect on the outcome of the game (and all this in only 2 qtrs). 1) Did anyone catch the collision with Brad Johnson when he came in untouched? You know old Brad came up wheezing after that one. Who cares if Dilger took the pass downfield for 25 yds - the hit was incredible. 2) And don't think Rob Johnson wasn't wetting his pants when L.A. was tracking him down like a animal when he just underhanded the ball away to save his *** from be another statistic (see Kordell and Troy). 3) The shot he laid on Stephens when his helmet popped off? I thought his head was still in it. 4) The INT in the first quarter. Am I missing anything?
NavyDave
You could almost hear R Johnson screaming "Yikes!!" A lil help here. You can also say the no TD reception call in the endzone and our D line spacing out on offsides kept the game "close." Looks like screens and dump offs are going to be what alot of teams do initially to answer the pass rush but if we are saving Gardner for the season instead of using him in these preseason games as I expect then our Defense will disrupt this enough for us to have a 10 point lead or so and force teams to play catch up. We have two more preseason games left to play, the patriots and the Cards before we start playing NFL teams so we have enough time to continue tweaking and winning with our backups

We had that many and beat Pitt! Plus the positives to that is WE (the DEFENSE!) caused those turnovers. Gift wrapped or not, they kicked A$$
