codeorama
Cool.. While I like Velvet Revolver OK, STP is a great band, too bad they didn't stay together.
DeanCollins
STP and Soungarden imo were the best bands to come out of the 'grunge' era. What's still laughable to me, was how critics and fans were so over the top about Pearl Jam and comparing them to the Beatles..... Eddie who? DeanCollins
Alice in Chains was better... I liked them too, but didn't think of them as a grunge band, but more in the metal catogory. here's a quote that agrees with me. "Alice in Chains was one of the most commercially successful bands from the Seattle, Washington grunge music scene. Unlike many of their peers, Alice in Chains owed more to heavy metal than to punk or '70s rock, but the group became associated with grunge due to their Seattle roots and their introspective and sometimes morbid lyrics." codeorama
I agree, I never thought of them as "Grunge" Heck, they were the opening band on the Monsters of Rock tour with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.

Saw that tour in Hampton. That was a crazy show! I have to agree with the previous statements about Alice in Chains.
Commander PK
I liked early STP, but they lost me when they made the "Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop" album. I thought it sucked at the time, and I still do. It's cool they are re-uniting for Weiland. I hope that's all this is though. In 2006, I'd rather see a 2nd Velvet Revolver album, then a 6th STP album.
