Game thread can be returned to. First half assessment so far guys what do you think?

From what I can hear, the running game is doing nicely. Struggled a bit in the passing game. Missed some throws, but whether we were covered or just missed I don't know.

Defense was shaky. Too many penalties. Tight end shredded us. But, it came up HUGE when needed and stuffed the run pretty well. Tampa had a couple of good plays there, but by in large, a pretty good run defense.

Matthews didn't do enough to unseat Wuerffel in my view. Wuerffel looked comfortable against the Steelers. It didn't look pretty, but, it sounded more comfortable than this sounds for Matthews.

How is the line holding up guys who can see? Sounds not bad by in large.

We are looking solid on pretty much all fronts. Shane really does need to work on his arm strength. I am satisfied with our interior line play. Lavar is a god! What is up with our special teams, I don't think Champ should be returning...........

We're playing better than we probably sound on the radio. Defense is fine. We got skewered on one drive with a ton of screens and the like, but other than that drive, they didn't do much. Don't worry so much about the TE, most of that is on playcalling. Trott is doing fine in coverage.

Those kickers we signed are godawful.

The Rock looks like a badass, Lockett made a couple of good plays (one on an overthrow he had to leap for), Gardner looks good (had perfect position on 3rd down of the first drive, but the throw was out of bounds), Shane looks "O.K.", his one INT came on a deep throw where Quez would have been WIDE open but Shane need to throw it another 10 yards down the field.

Ok, back to the game..

Offense looked pretty good. We should run more, but I like that if teams give us the short pass, SOS takes it instead of forcing it long a la Norv.

Defense was a little giving sometimes. Lavar showed no mercy on old teammate BJohnson.

BJ- I liked him, but I don't miss him. Looks like the BJ of old. Calm cool and collected one minute, and then suddenly has a few horrendous series. Very prone to being picked off.

Our starters looked good against another group of seasoned ballplayers.
