Jimbo
Well Hell's Bells.....isn't this what we were planning on? I know LaVar doesn't want this stupid story to cause problems with the team at this crucial point in the season.
@DCGoldPants
Lavar wants to retire here? Then do the team a favor and cut down that cap hit for next season.....work your butt off during the offseason......and make your cash by kicking butt and sell some Nikes. SKiNz Jus 2 sick
see what the papers said dosnt make anysense and from what the paper said Lavar never said anything bad about the team he mainly said that he knows he might not be a redskins for much longer so if he gets cut he didnt want to play for any other team

Saqs
He said on News 7 that it was taken out of context and horrible timing by the writer.
Burgold
yup. Misquoted. Invites the guy to his home because he wants a private interview and talk about his future or lack there of. Then gets upset because people are reacting badly to it.
misery
wow imagine that - some pro athlete says silly stuff that is manipulated by the news. Either way he shouldn't be doing any interviews on his future with the team, when they have to focus on the now.

Loyal2Washington
Of course Lavar was misquoted, what the heck did you expect LA to say? it was an accurate report. Remeber the first time he ripped the team, the reporters then took everything out of context. It got out of control and now Lavar has to do damage control, but we all know Lavar would never cause a problem on his beloved Redskins. Must be Gregg Williams fault. :eaglesuck :dallasuck :gaintsuck
28rdsknsfn28
I remember the Days when LaVar was the man...oh wait we were losing!!! Hmmmm last year with him we gave up the 3rd fewest yards and 5th fewest points.......don't think the d was the problem

Andre The Giant
Lavar's fault. Elkin is the President of the Pro Football Writers of America organization. He's been covering the team for 25 years. If anything, his coverage has been more than fair. Lavar has consistently been a distraction to JG and GW. Without knowing all of the facts, I'm pinning this one on Lavar.
IM A REDSKIN FAN
Reporter asked LaVar do you want to be a Redskin and then LaVar says "of course, thats what the article says" but a few moments before LaVar says he was misquoted?? Wow...I dont know what to beleive....All I will say is if the Redskins do let LaVar go, they better be damn sure they know what they are doing... SoCalSkins
LaVar must have provided several "packages" of quotes. The writer used the wrong package.
docsandy
I'm glad this is coming out... because with the interviews I've heard LaVar do on sportstalk recently and in the past, it's obvious things were taken out of context to me. It's interesting that people are willing to side with the media but not back the player when he tries to come out and speak the truth. Until proven otherwise, I'll give LaVar the benefit of the doubt.
wantarace17
when i saw that story on news 7 i was about to kill him. I love lavar's playing style and i hope he stays here until he retires it would kill us if he would leave for another team
RDSKNfaithfull
He was just on Comcast and said those are his quotes but they are taking out of context. He wants to be a Redskins for life and even said he would rather retire in the article. He said the article was supposed to be a season in review and doesn't know why elkin wrote what he did. He was angry and said that he is tired of the media mis quoting him and trying to make him a story he said the timing is wrong and he is focused on Philly and that is it. skinsmania123
Good I am glad he is having an opportunity to clear it up but I did not think the article was negative at all. I took to mean I like the Skins, hope I can retire here BUT all that crap about my contract caused a lot of problems, and I may not be here after this year. Lavar was injured after the second game and played DE a handful of downs the end of the season. You remember last year don't you, when Gibbs and the Redskins rushed Lavar on to the field knowing his injury wasn't fully healed, causing his knee to be injured even more. :eaglesuck :dallasuck :gaintsuck
