Who do I root for tonight???

The best thing is for the Viking to win out and the Giants to lose to the Raiders. If the Vikes win out, the Skins beat the Eagles, and the Giants lose, the Redskins will win the NFC East and the Giants will be tied with the Panthers next week(if they win next week). Who would make it to the playoffs with the Panthers and Giants have the same record? The Viking beat the Giants earlier this season, so if they both finish 10-6, the Vikings get the nod.

We need the Bears to lose out. And we need the vikings to win tonight and lose next week. So Root for the Pack (Who just tied the game 7-7) and root for the Vikings tonight but next week root against the Vikings.

NFL playoff scenarios

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ESPN.com

Playoff clinching scenarios for Sunday and for Week 17 (note: there are other clinching scenarios based on teams losing games that will be updated at a later date).

AFC East

• The Patriots have clinched the AFC East.

AFC North

• The Bengals have clinched the AFC North.

• The Steelers can clinch a playoff spot with:

1. A win

2. A Chiefs loss or tie

3. A Chargers win (note: although Chargers have been eliminated, if they win vs. Broncos and they, the Chiefs and the Steelers all finish at 10-6, you would break division ties first. Chargers would win tiebreaker vs. Chiefs based on common opponents (8-4 vs 7-5) and that would eliminate the Chiefs. They would then go to tiebreaker vs. Steelers, which Pittsburgh would win based on its head-to-head win vs. Chargers)

AFC South

• The Colts have clinched the AFC South, a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the AFC.

• The Jaguars have clinched a playoff spot.

AFC West

• The Broncos have clinched the AFC West and a first-round bye.

• The Chiefs can clinch a playoff spot with:

1. A win and a Steelers loss and a Chargers loss or tie.

NFC East

• The Giants clinch a playoff spot with:

1. A Vikings loss or tie Sunday vs. the Ravens

• The Giants can clinch NFC East with:

1. A win

2. A Redskins loss or tie

• The Redskins can clinch a playoff spot with:

1. A win

• The Redskins can clinch the NFC East with a win and a Giants loss

NFC North

• The Bears clinch the NFC North with:

1. A win or tie Sunday against the Packers

2. A Vikings loss or tie Sunday vs. the Ravens

• The Bears will clinch a first-round bye with:

1. A win Sunday over the Packers

NFC South

• The Buccaneers can clinch the NFC South with:

1. A win

2. Panthers loss

3. A tie and a Panthers tie

• The Panthers can clinch a playoff spot with a win.

• The Panthers can clinch the NFC South with a win and a Bucs loss or tie.

NFC West

• The Seahawks have clinched the NFC West, a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the NFC.

lets keep it simple

the giants are gonna be division champs

but we're gonna get a wildcard spot anyway

if the vikes win tonight, does anybody really think they have a chance against the bears?

let me remind you of a 3-28 loss earlier this year, even if it was in chicago

and the only way we can really not end up making the playoffs is if the cowboys win,

and we lose to Mr. McMahon, and i mean, come on.... need i say more

Actually, I think people got it all wrong.

Sure, when the scenario was us clinching even with a possible loss, you root against Minny.

Now that we have to win to clinch, we may as well pull for the best possible scenario.

Let's hope Chicago loses two straight and Minny wins out and the Giants lose. Oh and Carolina and Bucs to lose too.

That way we get a first round bye.

The Minny team playing NOW is NOT the same team that played Chi. Just as we are NOT the same team that played the giants in NY.

Why would we root for the Vikings? The Ravens don't affect us either way (except bragging rights / but I can safely say we already have those). The more NFC teams that lose the better. :2cents:

Exactly, I mean what's the point of even playing the game?
