Yahoo Poll: Who is the best in the NFC East?

Beat the Cowboys ? Check. Check.

Beat the Giants? Check.

Beat the Eagles? Check. Soon-to-be check.

Sounds like we are the best in the NFC East easily.

Well, you don't have the best record.

You are not in the playoffs yet.

You have not won the division, and need to depend on the Raiders (!), along with a win on the road at Philly, to do that.

You beat the Giants by 15. But you lost to them by 36. And got shut out.

Where do you get "easily"? In fact, how are you the best team at this point?

Perhaps you should have won at home against the meek Raiders. Then you would be tied for best record in the NFC East.

Or maybe you could have beaten the Giants in NY. The 'best' team is supposed to beat division rivals, not split with them.

If you are relying on a poll, on Yahoo of all places, for respect and self-esteem, there is something else you need to address.

The Giants are the best team in the NFC East right now. That is why the standings are based on won-lost records. Beat teams like the Raiders when you get the chance, and you will be able to EARN the title.

My two cents.

Not terrible points, but what does "best" mean? Best right now? Best all season?

A playoff berth and a division title is supposed to mean you've played the best in the division all season long. It does NOT mean you're playing the best football in the divison at a certain point in the season.

I think it's a fairly easy argument to say that the Redskins are playing the best football in the division right now. You can attribute the change to certain key injured players getting healthy, better motivation, whatever, but the record and the oh-so-recent head-to-head victories don't lie.
