Lavar has a Chance to be the differance maker

Recommended Posts

In the 1st game on monday night football Lavar had 1 solo tackle. That was his stat line 1 solo tackle. I believe this may even have come on special teams being he was in the dog house at that time. Now he has had a week off and is well rested. He is a good bit healthy since he had a full practice wednesday. My point is he was nowhere to be found in the first match up. I'm excited about what an upgrade our defense will get with him out there almost 75% of the snaps. We all know Lavar is a playmaker. He also is just as sound in every aspect of OLB as Holdman. I believe he can make a large impact penetrating into the Dallas backfield and Creating turnovers/turnover opportunities.

Lavar, ST, M.W., Griffin and Springs all give me great confidence in our D. Thats almost half our D that are all playmakers at there positions.

Arrington is ALWAYS able to be a playmaker, he is a HUGE presence on the field, just be ready to pick up the body parts if he plays on sunday

you know im kinda sick and tired of hearing about Lavar. i used to like him back in the day, but hes just not the same, we have 2 other consistant linebackers in MW and Lamar. Lavar just doesnt look the same or play the same anymore, i think he does well when they tell him to aggressively go after the backfield, but the other three plays of the series i dont feel any more confident than if holdman is in there. im not in any way saying holdman is remotely even close to being as good as Lavar, im not an idiot. in my opinion we dont need his contract lingering around but we are kinda stuck because no other team in thier right mind would go after him right now. but i think the D does pretty good with some low budget no name dudes out there.

i dont know fellas i know someof you are die hard Lavar fans and i can understand that but i just dont see him the same way anymore, one week hes playing and the next 2 hes not. not trying to stir anything up i just wanted to know if theres anyone else out there that feels the same way.

Perhaps Lavar can earn his money this weekend.

:notworthy :applause: :applause: :notworthy

The way I see it, LaVar has had one season that was almost close to his billing. I don't care how many times a guy goes to the probowl, it's a popularity contest to a good extent, and LaVar promotes himself very well.

Now, I'm not saying we're not better with him on the field, but he's never been the consistant gamebreaker we thought we were getting when we drafted him. He's never terrorized a team the way LT would.

What bothers me is if we were to get rid of him. The type of injurys he's been rehabbing in the off season often take till the second season before the player is truely back to where he was physically prior to the injuries. He will be faster next year, and will know the system that much better from playing more of it. He'll also have something to prove no matter where he plays. He will have a career year next season if he stays with us. Next year is our big run IMO. Rogers will have a year under his belt, and Taylor (if not in the klink) should begin to really hit his prime. This D is two or three players away from being scarey.

Not many players have terrorized a team the way LT did. Maybe LaVar should start doing a couple lines in the locker room??

Those of you who think Lavar isn't earning his paycheck. Go watch the video of him in the Skin Flicks section. He is 27 years old. Give him next offseason to get well. If you watch the tape you will see that he is buying into the system. He is learning to play. I believe that in the few games he has played this season he has played his best all around football. It would be a huge mistake to let him go.

How many of you wanted ST's head when he wouldn't return Joe Gibb's phone calls?

Hes 27, and hes a bum. Hes not buying into the system, he makes the same mistakes hes been making for the past three or four years. It makes me happy that people like you are going to be so upset when lavar is gone next year for a draft pick. Which is all we can get for his sorry ass.

For what its worth, Lavar is blowing everyone else on the roster away in tackles for a loss. I have no idea why he is not in on 3rd downs, but he's not. He's putting in work, however. Not to mention he's almost tripled Holdman's output in the first 7 or 8 games or whatever...

I hope Lavar has a kick-ass game...it might be his last against the Cowgirls in a Skins uniform. I personally think he'll stay here, but you never know. Its a wierd situation, I guess...

(not to sound like a lavar enthusiast... pssst... at this time do not check my posting name)

lavar will play this sunday. along with cornelius, shawn, sean, marcus, carlos, lemar. when's the last time everyone of these players were all on the field at the same time? ever? our defense will be handling business sunday at home with the crowd. our defense is scary with all our starters in.

dont look now, but i have a feeling brunell will reach deep this week and pull out a great game as he finds santana 8-10 times with 2 of them being in the end zone. portis will also have a huge day against the cowboys, scoring 2 touchdowns and 150+ yards. all in all, i do not think this game will even be close. the final score will be something like 34-17

I have stated my problems with LaVar before, but.....THIS IS DALLAS WEEK.

Screw that, I will critisize him later. Right now, this week, with Dallas coming to town, I just became a LaVar fan. I hope he rips someones head off. Anyone, I don't care. We need everyone to step it up in this game and for the rest of the season. Good luck to LA and all of the Redskins.

Cuz....

WE WANT DALLAS!!!!!

Zip-it-up and Zip-it-OUT!

LaVar is a warrior. He's been humbled.

Yeah, he's a "mistake maker", but he's also a "playmaker."

We're a better team with him on the field. And as much as I'd like to see him completely buy into our system, it would do our system a world of good to buy into him a little too.

That means that recognizing his faults is one thing... But maximizing his strengths is another. Our coaches are capable of doing that. All players aren't play-dough.

He'll play this week. And even if he's not physically up to it, you can't take away the attitude and energy he's going to bring to the table.

I agree 100%. It all seems to be coming together. Hopefully Brunell can give us 1 more good year, because everything else looks to be rock solid next season.
