natem985
Question.... for everyone... when was the last time (s) we were at .500 or better at this point in the season during the post Gibbs era?Our playoff run in 99 is the only one that comes to my mind. Which other seasons am I missing? I know there haven't been many... I believe 2001...under Schotty we were 6-6. Started off 0-5...won 5 straight, then lost at home to Dallas to be 5-6...We then won our next game (at Arizona? I think) to be 6-6. We ended up 8-8. someone correct me if its wrong, this is just top of my head hopefully we'll run the table this yr EDIT: nevermind, already posted
SlinginSammy HOF '63
(In Stephen A. Smith voice) HOWEVAH! In 1990, the NFL added an additional wild card spot. Had there been two NFC wild card's in '85 and '89, the Skins would have been playoff bound. There were two wildcard spots in 1985 & 1989. In 1989 the Giants got one and the Niners(both 10-6) got the other spot. In 1989 the 11-5 Eagles and 11-5 Rams got the two spots. In 1990 they added a third wildcard. Seabee1973
You're forgetting the infamous 7-1 start followed by utter collapse to a 9-7 record. The following year we were 8-7-1 (Michael Westbrook helmet removal moving us out of field goal range against the giants leading to the tie). 2000 6-2 start we were 7-6 when Norv got axed
SlinginSammy HOF '63
in 1996 of course the 7-1 star. In 1997 we were 8-7-1(the westbrook helmet thing ruined our wildcard shot). In 200 we were 6-2 and with Marty we were 5-5.

I almost confused myself with that
SlinginSammy HOF '63
2000 6-2 start we were 7-6 when Norv got axed we were rolling that first half. I remember that game where we beat down the Jags. A Poke friend of mine was at the house watching with me and all he could do was hang his head and shake it. What happened that second half of that season?!?!

DjTj
Anyone notice that we're currently the ONLY 6-6 team in the NFL? There are five teams that are 7-5 and three teams that are 5-7, but we're the only team that's 6-6 ... Doesn't mean anything - but just an interesting stat.
